Pretty good, but nothing ground breaking. The main character goes from clumsy oaf to master warrior in around 5 pages. And for a YA book, I couldn't believe how much death and killing was in it. There's more murder and war carnage here than some of the 40K books I've read. So yeah, watch out for tiny mice with bloodied swords...

I really enjoyed it. I can't believe it took me so long to find these books.

I don’t think I would have like it very much ten years ago either…

Brian Jacques' "Redwall" is one of the best books I have read. Its filled with mystery, adventure, songs, love, death, and the rise of a warior.
Redwall Abbey. The home of a mouse named Matthias and many other unique creatures. A place that was founded by Martin the Warior mouse. For many years, Redwall Abbey has been a place of peace. But that will soon change when a rat with evil intent reaches Mossflower Woods. That rat...is Cluny the Scourge. Cluny, an infamous rat with a whip-like tail, has his eye set on conquering the amazing structure known as Redwall.
In order to help save Redwall Abbey, all the inhabitants will have to work together to defeat Cluny. But Cluny doesn't plan to be taken down easily. He raises an army in vast numbers in order to take over Redwall.
Matthias tries to help by looking for Martin's legendary sword and shield. However, finding it won't be an easy task. He and his good friend, Methuselah, use their wisdom to search for the sword and shield. Travel with Matthias on his journey to find Martin's belongings and to save Redwall Abbey.
Brian Jacques' "Redwall" is a great book for reading. I give this book 4 stars because Brian Jacques unravels a story which captivates readers. Brian uses his writing skills to create a story like no other. I plan on reading more Redwall books in the future.
