I first read the Redwall books years ago and I still enjoy them when I recently re-read them. I love the world building and the creativity with which these animals were anthropomorphized. The level of description is really well done and very detailed. So adventurous and so very entertaining.

This is a fun, exciting adventure story! With numerous storylines threaded together, it kept the pace up and the reader engaged. It was a great addition to the series.

I don’t know how I didn’t remember a thing from my first reading of this as a teen; it’s easily one of the best! Non-stop action, a very unique story, a decent puzzle, a heartbreaking moment, and perhaps the greatest monster in the series all combine to make this a real page-turner. I felt that the tension was beautifully built up. The art is quite good, too.

It was great to relive the Redwall experience with Triss. It has been probably about 6 years since I read one of his books. As a young boy, this series was my favorite. I would save my money to buy each book that came out. I love the way he has the animals speak, how each race talks just a little bit different. Reading the descriptions on every type of food at feasts is quite enjoyable, too.

This book was good. I could not claim it as one of my favorites from Jacques, but it had some strong points. The last 50 pages I could not tear my eyes away from. It had some really good suspense and some nifty twists and turns. Triss is a very likeable character. Kurda, Triss's archrival, is on the other end of the spectrum. I simply disdained her! Good book Brian!
