Fun read! Age appropriate for 7-12 yr old girls. Classic stories and scrapes these girls get into! My favorites are them cutting their hair and acting like beggars!☺️

Just as sweet as the first book! The Everything Pudding had to be my favorite bit- so funny!! Simple writing with chapters of adventures with these young girls.

Again, I can't believe this was written so long ago but feels so current! I love the escapades that the girls get into - such lighthearted fun!

How delightful to read this book again after touring Maud's home, able to picture Betsy's house and The Big Hill itself. A classic!

These books are just sweet and wonderful. They are a great choice for younger kids reading above grade level, but I think older kids who like historical fiction would enjoy these as well. Betsy, Tacy, and Tib's gentle adventures are funny and sweet and enjoyable.

3.5 stars rounded up to four.

I can pretty much just copy paste my review of the first book here, so just click that link if you want further details. The adventures are different, but it's really just more of the same.

One thing that crossed my mind this time is I almost feel sorry for kids today with all their screens and technical gadgets. Betsy, Tacy, and Tib didn't have any of those, or much of anything in the way of modern conveniences since the setting is the early 1900's. While the fun they had was simpler, it also seems so much more meaningful, but I lament about that in other reviews, so click that link if you're interested. My sister's kids aren't hopelessly addicted to their various devices, but that's only because I interrupt it as often as I can, make them go out and play, or get them together for a game of charades, or cards, or work a puzzle with me, or something. (This is one reason they'd rather be hanging out anywhere else than with their uncle.) It's a losing battle, but I intend to fight it notwithstanding.

It's official. I'm now a fuddy-duddy.

Betsy-Tacy and Tib" is the follow up to the popular "Betsy-Tacy". The book pretty much picks up where "Betsy-Tacy" leaves off. In this book, the girls get a third friend named Tib, a cute blonde girl who had moved to Deep Valley with her family from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It didn't take very long for the two girls to hit it off with Tib.
It quickly becomes apparent that Tib is more adventurous and free-spirited which gets Betsy and Tacy into heaps of trouble but what young girl didn't get into trouble at their age? "Betsy Tacy and Tib" is an equally wonderful follow up to this classic series. The introduction to Tib is well written and a real treat.

The Betsy-Tacy books were highly autobiographical and Lovelace perfectly captures the innocence and magic of childhood. If you read this book and love it, please read the series. It will be books that you will never forget as long as you live. I also recommend the "Betsy-Tacy Companion" which is an amazing book that disects each book and compares it to it's real-life counterparts, including pictures of the "real" Betsy, Tacy, Tib and all the gang.

I had the pleasure of visiting "Deep Valley" (aka Mankato, Minnesota) for a Betsy-Tacy convention back in 1996. It was incredible to step back in time and enter Betsy's world. We toured the city and I was actually able to step foot in "Tacy's" bedroom and sit on the famous bench at the top of the big hill. It was truly a life-altering experience. I have to thank my sister, Julie for introducting these books to me and changing my life.

It's obvious how much these books mean to me. My first born child was named Tacy Kelly Maloy. Please read and enjoy. They are a treasure!

I read this aloud with my daughter (6yo). I enjoyed it even more than the first one! We were really rolling a few times. What fun stories, and a really lovely example of friendship. Each chapter ends on a positive note, and we are in a happy mood for bedtime (although sometimes a giggly/silly mood too

My little girl was so sad to finish this book. She didn't want the stories to end!
