“‘Make a pennant, too,’ he said.

“‘A pennant?’ ‘A big one?’ Betsy and Carney waited radiantly.

“Dave did not answer. His silence made it clear that when he said pennant he meant pennant, and that he couldn’t possibly want a small one.”

Stronger than the previous two high school books, with more seriousness and good moments between Betsy and her sisters. Still a fair amount of silliness.

April 28th, 2006. On an old reading list from 2006.

I have read this one many times since 2006, and maybe before that, but this was the first list I found it on....

This wasn't my favorite, there was a foreboding overshadowing this story that took a bit of the zest out of the book. It made it a little depressing.

I recommend to fans of the series, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend.
