Scary, good thing Japan doesn't exist.

Solid read. Good, not great, but better than most. Not my favorite Chrichton book, but better than most I've read. Am I being repetitious?

It's a unique detective story. While Japan isn't anywhere near the economic threat to the United States like it was in the past (that title now belongs to global debt levels), this was still an interesting read. While the story was good, the real value here is a look inside the Japanese culture. Reading is fun, but it's even better when you learn something about the world.

Recommended as much for the education of a foreign culture as the entertainment.

Okurken abartılı geliyor biraz ama günümüzde Çin'in dünya ekonomisi üzerindeki etkilerini, kapitalizmin nasıl vahşileşebildiğini, hükümetlerin yerini şirketlerin aldığını, ülkemizin ekonomi alanında yaşadıklarını düşündükçe gerçeklik payını da fark ediyorsunuz yazılanların. Romandaki "X'i tanıyor musun, Y'yi biliyor musun?" sorularıyla başlayıp o kişinin ABD-Japonya arası ticari ilişkilerle ilgili yaptıklarını, yaşadıklarını anlatan paragraflar o kadar çok tekrarlanmış ki bir süre sonra bu kalıp çok göze batıyor. Bari o kadar kalıplaştırmasaydın sayın Crichton diyesi geliyor insanın. Romanda sürprizler var elbette ama bu tarz sürprizlere okuya okuya alıştığım için klişe geldi. Notum 2.5

It’s been many years since I read this book. I’m older and wiser, and I understand so much more about the world. This book opened my eyes to things that were happening in the 1980s and 1990s that I was ignorant of. It all makes sense now.

The storyline is great, too. I had trouble putting the book down. Even though I saw the movie, Michael Crichton is a genius, and he had me hanging on the edge of my seat. This is my first book of his, and it certainly won't be the last.

This is my third time reading this book. Obviously, I love it. :)
