This book is wonderfully sick. I really enjoyed the discriptive writing style that Dean Koontz employed in this novel. I also liked the fact that this book was more about Victor and what he had been up to than Deucalion.
There was a bit of confusion early on about which of the New Breed that Victor has set lose upon the world was committing which acts of murder;but once I got that straightened out I was good to go.
There was never a dull moment although, there were quite a few WTF moments. I couldn't help feeling sorry for the so outwardly perfect but inwardly flawed creations that Victor set loose. It seemed as though their state of being was an extention of that of their creator. Both striving for that totally perfected state through sadistic and horrifying means.
I really liked Erica, and I was hoping that she could find the strength the over-ride her programing. Though that was not the case. She did get the perfect revenge!
Can't wait for book 2.
