A hilarious set of loosely connected vignettes that capture the comedian’s undeniable wit and frankness. If you’re looking for a book that pokes full at everything from politics to Hollywood this is your book.

I applaud Sykes for making this book feel like watching one of her comedy stand-ups.

Despite my glowing review, I have to admit that Sykes’s confession of purposely putting filler to meet the required word count for a proper book was disappointing. To a certain extent, Wanda’s confession is true. For one, she does use this confession to comedic effect but you can tell when she’s not giving it her all.

This was a fun book. Wanda Sykes is a funny woman. This book would be great bathroom reading.... each essay is very short and to the point, and it's a very easy read. This makes me want to find out more about Wanda Sykes. Also, this book was published before she came out, so it's very interesting in that way- she talks about men throughout the book, not about women. All in all a funny, enjoyable reading experience.

Observations about the world, and events,
from the hilarious mind of Wanda Sykes.
She "keeps it real", while keeping it
funny.

I don't often laugh out loud while reading, but some of these passages had me giggling and guffawing late into the night. Sure, the book is vulgar, full of profanity and with some rather dated political humor, but when Wanda hits it, she makes sure to serve it up hot. A fast read that flows like a stand-up routine, this book was a welcome mood-lifter, for sure.

I think Wanda Sykes is hilarious, so I picked up this book from the library - on a whim. Well, it did not disappoint. It was so funny that I laughed out loud, laughed til I cried, and couldn't put it down. In fact, I read until 3AM and shook the bed with my belly laughs...although my husband, who was trying to sleep, didn't think it so funny. The book reads just like stand-up. I highly recommend.
