Walter Payton and Don Yaeger did a very good job writing this book. I love how it explains that back then, the players didn’t play for the money or the fame they played because they love the game. I also enjoyed how they talked about Payton’s point of view on the whole racial concept at that time. This is a very powerful and interesting book about Walter Payton and all of his achievements and good deeds he did in his life. It also gets sad towards the end so beware of that but it is a good touch the story. So if you are a football fan or any sports fan this is a very good book to read for you.

Poorly written. I am not sure who did the editing but I would fire. The story was good of course but not exactly written in humility either. I give it at 3 star just because it is Sweetness but would probably say a 2 more likely.

This book was very inspirational. This book pushes you to become a better person and a better athlete. His life was based on giving and never turning his back on other people. The story is about how Walter Payton's life effected everyone eleses around him. I chose to read this book because I like Walter Payton as a player and never really looked to see how he was while he was living and after he retired.

Poorly written and put together, a lot of repetition! Thought it was candy coated, and did not touch on the man rather the game! I thought the biography written by a writer came closer to tell a story of the man!

Never Die Easy is an amazing book about the life of Walter Payton. The story tells about his childhood, high school, college, pro career, and after his pro career. The book even goes into the perspectives of some of Walter Payton's closest friends.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves football and people who wants to learn about Walter Payton. This is a great book and I think just about every football fan would enjoy it.

I just think this book did a good job of showing what was so inspiring about Walter Payton as a person and an athlete. But it made him a real person as well. It gave quite a bit of insight into how he felt and thought about all that happened with his career and his illness. A must read for any Chicago Bears fan.

Never Die Easy was a great book about Walter Payton and how he became one of the best running backs to ever play the game. It also tells about the teams life and his when he was on the Chicago Bears. I really liked it because he was a great running back.

Never Die Easy by Walter Payton is a biography of the life of Walter Payton and what his life was like through his ups and downs and throughout his conquering journey. One of the great things about this book is that its moral is that to work hard and to never give up and I like that part especially because my father says that all the time. This is a great book because it talks about real life situations and the real and up downs that can really occur in someones life. Not only that it talks about the wonderful life of a legend football player. He both conquered on the field and of the field with a lot of charity work.

This book takes place on the filed and off the field and its genre like I said is a biography, which is my favorite genre. The author does a great job of making you fell that you are in the book. He talks about similarities in real life situations and some real stuff normal people do in the every day life. The characters play a huge part in this book. It talks about every characters impact on the main character of course Walter Payton.

I think this book should be rated a 5 star no douht. I mean with all those life situations and his charity work and his legendary football career on the field its just amazing how the author talks about so much with so much detail. I like the authors detail because of their detail they examin every chapter and every ups and downs in Walters life. They talk about every life changing decision and every character that impacted and never impacted his life both on and off the field both in a incredible detail which is really amazing .


I would recommend this book to biography lovers football lovers and real nice classic books with hard work determination and all in that etc. Its a quality ups and downs book gives a real good example with walters ups and downs and all the characters and all his quotes like never give up or always work hard. And once again I incourage you to read this book because it has truly impacted my life in many good ways and so it can do that to yours also.

gentlemen as Payton was. The goal of the author in writing this novel was to touch the heart of the reader

and to explain how Walter Payton was a man on and off the field. Walter describes his life growing up

in a small town in Columbia, Mississippi, playing high school football, playing college ball at Jackson

State, playing with the Chicago Bears, becoming a successful businessman and being the perfect father to

his two children. Walter Payton can be seen as an inspirational role model. “If you ask me how I want to

be remembered, it is as a winner. You know what a winner is? A winner is somebody who has given his

best effort, who has tried the hardest they possibly can, who has utilized every ounce of energy and

strength within them to accomplish something. It doesn't mean that they accomplished it or failed, it

means that they've given it their best. That's a winner.” This is a great quotation from Walter because it

shows his true personality and his determination to succeed.

tI like the way the book is setup where it briefly describes Walter's life before getting more in

depth about his childhood and the rest of the book. I love the way Walter talks throughout the book

because he is humorous yet serious in a tone that draws you in. I have no dislikes towards this novel. I

believe that anybody who has an interest in football would enjoy this book. Any age would definitely find

themselves reading this novel because it is heartfelt and is just an all around interesting life to learn

about. One lesson I took from this book is that if you truly want something bad enough nothing or no one

will be able to stop you.

Walter Payton which is the man that people nickname him Sweetness because of the way he ran on the field and he is one of the most creative running backs in the history of the NFL. He was also the star of the Chicago Bears’ only Super Bowl Championship. Walter Payton is also a dedicated father to his children and was a founder of a charitable foundation that help thousands of kids each year. Payton was growing up being poor in Mississippi and played football to attract girls and attended at a Black College. He was drafted by the bears in 1975 and he believed that he would only play for them for five years but he played for the Chicago Bears for thirteen seasons and he is one of the greatest football players in the history of the NFL. Walter Payton is the all-time leading ball carrier in the history of the NFL and was admired from hundreds of thousands of people on and off the football field. He was very successful but he was battling with cancer and died on November 1999.

People like athletes or anyone who is interested in American Football would enjoy one of the greatest running backs in the NFL of all time life. This book can be interesting to anybody really since this book can be very inspiring t most people who read this book. This autobiography is more than just a book; it was a life to remember. Walter Payton wasn’t just very successful on the football field but he was very inspiring to thousands of people off the field because how generous he was and he very successful charity foundations helping thousands of kids each year.

I think that this book was very fun and funny to read and there is not many complaints I have for the book. It was pretty depressing that he ends up dying due to an ultimate battle with cancer. Like I said before but this was just more than just a book. There were many life lessons in this autobiography and this just simply very inspiring to the readers including myself. I noticed that many people just remember how good an athlete is when he/she is playing, but many rarely notice what type of person the athlete is off the field. Before reading this autobiography, I didn’t even know Walter Payton was this good of a person off the field.

Wow, that was inspirational, but the whole thing was really sad. I felt a heavy heart through almost the entire book. The few chapters that talk about his childhood through his NFL career were uplifting, but also laced with the sadness of Walter Payton's early departure. In any case, it makes me want to do more with my own life.
