Anyone who likes psychological thrillers should read this book.
To be honest, it took a bit for me to get into this book. The prologue was a great attention grabber but after that, the first 100 pages or so were a bit of a disappointment in my opinion. I think I was waiting for everything to happen. Instead I got to read about Kara and Steve Marshall deciding to sell their house and move to the city and how their teenage daughter Lindsey felt about it with just a few teases of inside the antagonists mind as he stalks his victim. It also took that long to introduce Patrick Shields - the man whose family was talked about in the prologue of the book. What might have been able to be summed up in less pages or even through flashbacks throughout the book seemed to drag on which had me wondering when something was going to happen. Maybe that is the suspense for some people I don't know.
Once we got past all that though oh boy did things happen. The book went from a potential disappointment to a spine tingling page turner with tons of questions racing through my mind as I read to get all the answers. The ending is full of twist and surprise - which I did end up figuring out some just before it's revealed.
This is definitely one of those books that you appreciate more once everything is put together and all the questions have been answered. I would recommend this book, but if you're like me and like to have a lot of action or suspense right at the beginning of the book, get through the first 100 pages (don't skip them) it'll be worth it
