Anyone who likes psychological thrillers should read this book.

To be honest, it took a bit for me to get into this book. The prologue was a great attention grabber but after that, the first 100 pages or so were a bit of a disappointment in my opinion. I think I was waiting for everything to happen. Instead I got to read about Kara and Steve Marshall deciding to sell their house and move to the city and how their teenage daughter Lindsey felt about it with just a few teases of inside the antagonists mind as he stalks his victim. It also took that long to introduce Patrick Shields - the man whose family was talked about in the prologue of the book. What might have been able to be summed up in less pages or even through flashbacks throughout the book seemed to drag on which had me wondering when something was going to happen. Maybe that is the suspense for some people I don't know.

Once we got past all that though oh boy did things happen. The book went from a potential disappointment to a spine tingling page turner with tons of questions racing through my mind as I read to get all the answers. The ending is full of twist and surprise - which I did end up figuring out some just before it's revealed.

This is definitely one of those books that you appreciate more once everything is put together and all the questions have been answered. I would recommend this book, but if you're like me and like to have a lot of action or suspense right at the beginning of the book, get through the first 100 pages (don't skip them) it'll be worth it

Kept my interest the whole wY through. Had my suspicions on who was involved and I’m
Still confused on why some things happened but it was a good book. I would have liked a little more closure on a couple of things but it was still a good book

I have just one word for this book: Disturbing

This is another book I read along with the audiobook and the narrator (Dick Hill) had my skin crawling. The reading of the "villain's" parts were way too convincing. To the point that I almost stopped reading the book at multiple points. Thanks for making this book more creepy than it would have been from just reading alone.

This guy is so fucking creepy. This book gave me more chills up my spine than Black Creek crossing; he's starting to equal H.P. Lovecraft as the rare author that can scare me. I swear I didn't want to turn the lights out the other night. Realtors and those selling their homes should read this first ;) Being in the market for a new house, this book hits particularly close to home. Because this story is grounded totally in reality, the horror is even more intense than his other works with supernatural elements.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. O have no words, and also no word are needed. One of the best.

I used to be a big John Saul fan in my younger years, when I used to scour the library shelves for horror and the like. This is the first of his books that I have read in a long time though, and I found it just okay. The storyline wasn't particularly gripping, but I think this was due to the writing style, which wasn't as developed as you'd expect. It could have been better, but I didn't hate it.

I have become a total John Saul fan in the last year and so far this is my third book by him. It’s probably the most realistic one I’ve read so far and therefore the most disturbing, but I did not like the pacing of this one. Very slow burn until about the last 50 pages or so and then it just ended so abruptly. I hate a rushed ending and this one definitely had that. Saul writes characters that are well fleshed out and that is one of the things I like about his work. This book is no different there..the characters are great and the bad guy was completely disgusting and disturbing. My only complaint is the pacing.

Perfect Nightmare is the story of a kidnapper who targets his victims by stalking open houses. Trigger warnings for SA and child abduction.

Have to say that this was a page turner! The name of the book is true in all of it's meaning and actually gave me some nightmares! I will definitely think differently from here on out about selling my house!

I don't even know why I started this book. Completely out of my wheelhouse. I didn't enjoy it but I guess I wanted to know what happened at the end. Blah blah.....

I picked this paperback up from the library exchange program. I hadn't read any books by this author before. It was very good thriller that held my interest.

I wanted to like this book but even for a thriller it was a little twisted and ‘too much’. The hint of teenage rape was gross. It was a very slow read but then the end was rushed and kind of thrown together.
