Rilettura piacevolissima.

If you're not already reading this series then get into Kay Scarpetta. This was a great next book in the series and I loved the dynamics of the characters, the villain, the mystery and Kay's willingness to always get to the bottom of things.

This had a great mix of personal relationships on top of a truly killer.

I did a mix of audio + book book and yes, just binged another one! I've been listening while I go for walks and clean up around the house....killer thrillers are a great motivator to get me outside and get my house into shape!

So the baddie from book 4 is back, the crazy Gault-guy. Now he's gotten the woman who Lucy fell in love with in the last book manipulated and at times they look like each other. Correction, she has changed herself so drastically she looks like him. There's murder and mayhem and towards the end it gets really intense.
Kay is getting it on with Benton and has a guilty conscience which I think is good because it makes her into a real person, which I've felt she is all along.
Lucy's involved hugely in the story and I'm loving it. She's like a little side kick :D Even in the end the creepy Gault-guy has her in his clutches underground on the tracks and Kay kills him.
Why 4 stars is that after all the weaving of the story, the plot twists and character build ups and even the intense ending with its teeth grinding ending, the whole book just ends. They fly away in a plane or a helicopter and that's it. I thought it was the most anti-climatic ever!

Would have given this one 0 or negative stars, I am so done with this series. I had issues with the last book but decided to give this one a try to see if it got better or went somewhat back to the goodness of the previous books, it was worse. None of the characters are likable anymore not a single one, I would have let the bad guy kill them all in a heartbeat by the time I was half way through this book! Again the title was poorly picked and had almost nothing to do with the story except for maybe a total of 5 or 6 sentences, if this was a suggestion or choice of the editor fire them. The situations for the characters in this book are truly unbelievable. I read these books to get away, chill the mind for the stress of the day to day, not go brain dead or presume I have no brain at all. If I were Kay's boss I would definitely fire her. She does everything but her job in this book she's so busy trying to do everyone else's. She's annoying, whiny, judgmental and hypocritical throughout, a pure narcissist who has the common sense and survival instincts of a gnat and should be swathed away like one for her behavior and actions. Lucy wasn't much better (they were consistent with her age here at least as opposed to the last book). Benton was so flat and emotionless he could have been a robot (he's still not giving a shit about being with his wife one night and sleeping/cheating with Kay the next). Marion is now a shit heap dump of almost all the cliches an offensive shit heel can be, the worst of all prejudices combined. I won't be reading anymore from this series and if Cornwell's other books are like the last two in this series I won't be reading anymore of her books period.

The best Kay Scarpetta book so far. The investigation of the murders was rather interesting, and I liked the final showdown. Big plus was that the characters didn't act as silly as they normally do.

In this story we meet again the villain from book #4. They figured out who he was in book #4, but did not catch him. Then he reappeared here and there in book #5. But book #6 was all about him. Evil. But they got him in the end. The very end. Now I am happy.

Šesti deo serijala, a sve bolji i bolji intenzitet trilera. 10/10

A solid and exciting story that continues Kay Scarpetta's search for Galt, she does however get a little self pitying and wingy in a couple of places bemoaning how her freedom is being curtailed, not that anyone succeeds

Excellent book. Once again Cornwell has produced a fast paced action packed book. You can just feel the tension. Two books ago Gault (the bad guy) was introduced to the series and finally in this book it comes to a close. The only thing I didn't like was it left you hanging on whether or not Carrie (Gaults accomplice and Scarpettas niece's ex lover) was caught. If she hasn't been then I am quite sure we haven't seen the last of her. Once again Scarpetta is still having her affair with her colleague, Special Agent Benton Wesley, and in this book they both admit to each other that they are in love with each other but don't know what to do because Benton is married. I don't like that. I like Kay Scarpetta's character a lot so it was really disappointing when she began the affair with not sign of remorse. But I guess Cornwell is showing that her main character is human and subject to imperfections and mistakes like the rest of us. It just bothers me that the mistake she is making is so immoral.
