I don't mind YA / chicklit/ cozy mysteries and I have rated some of them quite high. But I guess, I was not in the right mood to appreciate this one. With a threadbare plot, this one was too juvenile. I was not amused by Stephanie and her granny's antics.
The police did seem quite dumb to have failed to find Kenny Mancuso who kept popping now and then, mutilating both live and dead people.
I guess, I am the last reader on GR to have started a book by Janet Evanovich, but I am glad I did, because now I can cross this author from my TBR list.

This is a funny slapstick series which is a bit silly. I laugh at the old references, and the complete politically incorrect things.

Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter bringing in bail jumpers, located in New Jersey, so the audio format works really well with the accents.

Stephanie’s family are a motley crew, her grandma is on the case finding stolen caskets. A lot of this story is about Grandma Mazur and her obsession with checking the obituaries and attending the viewings.

I was recommended this series by a work colleague and it’s ok, just a fluffy filler to fill the time. The simmering tension between Stephanie and Joe Morelli (a proper cop) is always palpable.

The funny thing is Stephanie and her grandma are always shooting things. Another silly and improbable series, but a bit of fun.

I listened to this on the Libby platform and my public library, which was handy as the old books are not always available. Helpful that I work in the industry!

Another enjoyable addition to this series, although not as funny or engaging as the first book. I loved that Grandma Mazur was more prominent in this book, she’s a hilarious character that has me in stitches.

The best part of this book had to be the classic Stephanie Plum and Joe Morelli banter and arguments. Stephanie just attracts calamity wherever she goes, and Joe is always running around after her, at wits ends with her and her illegal behaviour.

The situations they get themselves into are ridiculous. There were multiple car accidents, severed body parts that arrived in the mail, ice-pick injuries and lots of funerals.

Nothing cures the winter blues more than the hilarious Stephanie Plum novels. Although Grandma Mazur was attacked more than I would have liked, Grandma gets her revenge in the end. Throw in a few fun times with a taser and you have another winner.

I love this book!

One for the Money, as great as this series is, really didn’t show you the potential of laughter to come.

Two for the Dough changes everything! The relationship between Stephanie and Morelli will leave you smiling. All of the wonderful little things in a relationship that bugs you, you’ll find in theirs. The awkward moments to the pitter patter wonder moments.

Grandma Mazur really steps on stage with her need to pay her respects to the dead. Skipping her feet to help her granddaughter pursue the deadly criminals threatening her life, she finds herself injured and pissed. Playing Dirty Harry and being as sharp as a pistol, Mazur will bring a smile to your face.

Stephanie, still new at being a Bounty Hunter, second guesses her abilities. Lula will appear in this book and let the games begin! This book is just the start of a wonderfully HILARIOUS team!

I definitely recommend this book to anyone needing a smile. Mild violence. No sexual content.

Thumbs up to Janet Evanovich!

Bridget Jones the bounty hunter - round 2.

Stephanie is totally inept, but luckily seems to have all the right contacts to help her out.

I laughed out loud on a tram at one stage, so I gave that an extra star.

Good fun and easy to read, if a bit samey at times.

This was just as fun and entertaining as the first book in the Stephanie Plum series.

Rookie bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has her second major bail jumper in sight. Kenny Mancuso, cousin of Joe Morelli, is on the run after shooting his best friend. It seems a straight forward case to begin with, but Stephanie never expected cousin Kenny to be so crazy or to have to deal with the stuff he is caught up in. Lucky for her she has Joe, Ranger, and even Grandma Mazur to help her out!

I loved the story. It had a little bit of everything with action, humor, mystery, and even a hint of romance. The scenes between Joe and Stephanie are awesome. They have great chemistry and both are a touch on the crazy side so their interactions are frequently hilarious.

Kenny was a crazed villain and it was engaging to follow Stephanie as she tried to bring him to justice while also trying to track down some missing coffins as a side job!

Grandma Mazur was even more hilarious in this book than she was in the first. Stephanie definitely needs to bring her on more bounty hunts in the future.

Rating: 3.5 stars.

Audio Note: I'm getting more used to C. J. Critt and think she did a good job with this one.

I first read this eons ago and just loved it. So funny, with awesome characters.

I've just read it again via audiobook. It was great company on a long road trip.

I have the whole series in a combination of hardcovers, ebooks and now audio. I plan to build up the audios so I can listen to the whole.

FIRST OF ALL, How dare you hurt Grandma Mazur???

Okay, that's out.
This was just as funny as the first. As always, Grandma Mazur was the highlight for me. I love that she uses the funerals as her social outing of the week. And that the closed coffins will drop the attendance lmao. Makes me wonder how morbid I will be when I'm old. The coffin side plot was a great addition and definitely filled in gaps in the action. I like how it was woven into the main story line. Can't believe they burnt down the funeral home. But again, don't eff with Grandma!! That's what happens! Really wish there had been more Ranger though I lol'ed when Stephanie hit Morelli's car (doing no damage to Big Blue haha) and noted Ranger laughing while he watched. Can't wait for #3. :)

I can already tell that I am going to love this series! Yes, it’s fluff, but who of us doesn’t need that in this day and age?

Another genius book!!!!!

This time we get to know a bit more Grandma Mazur, Stephanie´s grandma. She is a hilarious character, love to go to the afternoon viewings and gossip with everyone about everything.

In "Two for the Dough", Stephanie has to collect a guy named Kenny who happens to be Morelli´s cousin and that´s were thing start to go down the road.

Stephanie has good luck being a bounty hunter, she encounters her targets in the most common places but never gets to arrest them and everyone thinks this isn´t the right job for her.

The book is great and I, again, enjoyed every minute of it!!

Stephanie is up to her dangerous bounty hunter shenanigans again. This time with the help of a back in good standing as a cop Joe Morelli. I love the way Joe seems to been creeping into her life. They are basically dating and Stephanie has no clue. We saw less of Ranger in this book which saddened me but Grandma Mazur was front and center and so darn entertaining. She is keeping everyone on their toes.

I mostly had a good time with this book. I also was a bit creeped out with all the breaking and entering going on. Can’t wait to start the next book.

n  The Random Thoughts:n

I listened to the abridged audiobook which had terrible editing. Not the author or narrators fault but definitely made the book annoying when it didn’t have to be.
