The perfect encouragement for daily life. This was a sweet gift from friends that I savoured! I took it with me to Saudi Arabia, where I didn't have access to a Christian church and had quite a difficult time adjusting. This book was the perfect reminder that God was with me each and every day. What a blessing!

Excellent devotional on hearing from the Lord

I bought this book early in my walk with Christ (about 4 years ago) & this book still inspires & encourages me in Christ. The way Frances j Roberts placed God as the voice it makes you as the reader feel as if God is speaking directly to you concerning your situations. LOVE IT!

Got almost through it, but DNF. It is written as if from the voice of God, so I read with care as there is some license taken and it states things God did not actually say. On one hand, some things spoke directly to my heart and were both convicting and uplifting. On the other hand, there was TOO much license taken in some cases. I had to stop with a chapter toward the end of the book which began by highlighting God’s deep need for us. (God does not need us… but we do need Him.).

This book is like sitting down with a warm fleece blanket on your couch with a cup of your favorite tea while listening to The Lord speak to you...it's like a love letter from God. The words on the page will touch you when and where you need it most. "He will affirm you as He fills up the lonely places with joy and gladness..."

I love this book. I keep giving copies away and have to buy new ones all the time.

Her books are beautifully written. Always feel like it’s just a Sweet time spent with the Lord. This one is written in old English so a little harder to understand than the other one I have read and love

This is a fantastic devotional book. I have the original version and I love the language (rather than the update version).
Reading through once again...maybe my 3rd or 4th time?

Life changing....

I keep this one close as I read it quite often

mostly based on scripture, but written as letters from God. I was surprised by how much of an impact these little daily devotions had on me. I think this will become a book I return to and re-read often. Especially in times of trial or discouragement. This was a good way to remind myself of the closeness of my God, both His love for and His expectations of me. Not all easy to hear stuff, too--sometimes they were quite challenging, and often they were eye-opening. I would recommend this book whole-heartedly. It's not quite the earth-shattering read that "My Utmost for His Highest" or "Practicing the Presence" was, but it's only a small step down!
