A very fun series. I loved it.

Having been a number of years since I first read this origin series, I don't remember a lot about it. However, I remember a LOT about this installment. I felt so betrayed by a certain plot twist in this book. I'm pretty sure it scarred me for life and prepared me for the real world. (I mean I'm joking but at the same time I'm not). Great installment!

This was such a fun mess. XD

When I was 14 this series was my everything. But after book 8 they stopped publishing it here in Brazil and I got very frustrated for not being able to finish reading it. Needless to say I screeched like a kid when I got my hands (metaphorically speaking, it's an ebook) on book 9.
I'm happy to say that despite the nostalgic feelings making my opinion slightly biased, I really do believe this is just as good as back then. Funny and fast, with an interesting twist at the very end. My child-self is very happy now.

I read this entire series when I was a preteen or young teenager. I LOVED each and every one of these and I waited impatiently for each new installment.
Being an avid Disney fan and the POTC ride in Disney World is my favorite, and the POTC movies were among my most-watched movies, I could not contain myself when my dad found these for me in the book store.
Although I have not read them in years, I remember them fondly and I strongly recommend them to anyone who likes pirates, tie-in novels, or just exciting adventuress. I think these would be a hit for reluctant readers as well (even though I did not classify as a reluctant reader, these grab you quickly and are pretty easy to get into).

The whole time travel aspect of this book didn't interest me very much. I kept waiting for Jack and Fitzy to get off of the island already. They spent too much time there in my opinion. The best part of this book was the twist at the end having to do with who Fitzy truly is. This book did get me excited to read the next volume in the series to learn about Teague and Fitzwilliam.
