Yet again Wilbur Smith has delivered an epic tale. Through war torn Europe back to Africa, family conflict, love interest, revenge, cruelty & heartache. The story as with many of Wilbur Smith's books covers so much. This is simply one of the very best story ever committed to paper. Though fictional you can't help but get involved with the plot & the characterisation, which are brought to life.
I'm not qualified to comment on a book such as this other than to express, inadequately how good I think it is. That said I'm somewhat bias as I do love Wilbur Smith. These historic tales are real adventure, boys own stuff. That said as with many of his stories there is a romance woven into the plot.
My favourite author of all time I think & rereading this novel has reaffirmed that position. Awesome.
