Corto, conciso e insatisfactorio discurso. Uno hubiera esperado una mejor arenga de uno de los grandes próceres yanquis. Algunos han alabado su brevedad. Tampoco uno debe admirar las declamaciones extensas, sin embargo Lincoln pecó del vicio contrario.

El discurso es célebre por la trillada fórmula: "del pueblo, para el pueblo y por el pueblo", que se usa para extender la democracia por todo el orbe. Es una curiosidad bibliográfica e histórica. Solamente esto.

Honest Abe?

What did Abe know and when did he know it. The only president to lead us into civil war between the states Today this man memorial places him sitting in a huge god chair in Dc. This lying sob deserved his 3 days of mystery if any he ever did. I praise Lee not Lincoln. This is a well written and presented cover for a man who claiming remorse for deaths. I do not recommend school children read or study his CRAP this Abe Lincoln needs his history scrutinized by honest authors and not those programmed to salute or kneel before his memorial throne. Due to failing as a president I recommend reading by mature adults college students Age 18+

When differentiating reading, you can read through words, audio, or pictures. What Ames this illustrated book of "The Gettysburg Address" so interesting is that it is easy to use this book using all differentiated methods. The words alone are powerful words as told in the forward, but the illustrations inside give the same message as the text of the speech. So much effort was put forth in creating this book, and it is fabulously done! This is such a great example of how art can tell stories just as well as words can.

After reading this speech, it is different and much better than I expected. It is brief, with understandable language instead of the flowery prose I expected from 19th century speech. This speech is succinct. It is very short considering its reputation, but that just meant Lincoln chose his words carefully and crafted one of the greatest speeches ever. This speech must have made such an emotional impact on the soldiers and people of Gettysburg during the Civil War. Now I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and hear the speech being spoken myself. It is too good for the printed page.

This an amazing tribute to the greatest 3 minute speech in history. Given at the dedication of cemetery for the thousands killed on the battlefield in three intense days of fighting, President Lincoln's 272 words were intended to hold the listeners to the ideal that all men are created equal. The awesome black and white illustrations intensify the power of the text and show a diverse audience and nation working together. Never has this nation needed to reread these words and never have they been presented in a more powerful manner. There are notes and other information -much of which I didn't know or had forgotten - that give these word context like never before.
