Extraordinario inicio de esta saga. Una historia compleja q inicia con personajes muy bien definidos. Siempre el estilo de VC Andrews lleno de dramas familiares pero q a la vez ilustra la complejidad de las decisiones humanas.

3.5 stars. I truly couldn’t put this book down, even as you approach the half way mark and the “big thing” hasn’t happened yet. A story of survival and trying to make the best of truly horrible circumstances. I will def be picking up the next!

Oh how I have missed VC Andrews!! I devoured half this book in one night, would’ve finished the whole thing but I made myself put it down and go to bed.

I liked it, but I liked My Sweet Audrina a lot better. After loving that one, I wanted to check out more of V.C. Andrews's books. I watched the whole Casteel family saga series beforehand, so I had a general sense of what would happen. I definitely liked the whole forbidden Cal x Heaven fling in the movie more because Cal was hot.

Logan, the main love interest, is slightly bland imo. I do wonder what happened to the beloved teacher, Miss Deale.

He odiado cada página en la que Heaven vivía con Kitty y Cal, ha sido aburrido y poco convincente toda la historia final.

En cambio el principio me gustó mucho, la primera parte : en los Willies. Donde pude sentir la angustia de esa familia pobre y alejada de toda esa gente que los tachan de vulgares.

Es como si hubiera leído dos libros totalmente diferentes, sin una conexión, una relación...

La historia no ha sido creíble, aunque el concepto que hay detrás es muy potente, lastima que no me haya gustado la forma en la que han crecido los personajes.

Lo siento, mi querida V C Andrews, Flores en el ático siempre estará por encima de cualquier libro.

This book started off rough! Really rough. It got less painful as the book went on. However, this re-read has shown me that I don’t enjoy this book as much as I thought I did! Or else I’m reading it a lot differently than I did years ago. It was ‘meh’ for me. Not good. Not so bad it’s good. In my quest to re-read books I’ve been hanging onto to see if I honestly like them or if I’m hanging onto nostalgia, this was nostalgia. I am going to finish rereading the series, but it’ll likely be my last re-read for this one!

Please stop recommending this to me. I dunno why it's suddenly popular again, but it was disgusting in the 1990s and it's still disgusting now. I don't want any stories featuring incest, sex with or seduction of minors, or graphic child abuse.

This is the book that set me on the path to become the avid reader I am to day. My mothers co-worker told her about it. Then she started telling my sister about it, they passed it back and forth and had very interesting conversations that I could not get involved in because I did not know anything about Heaven, her father, or her "fresh" sister Franny. Finally they finished and it was just sitting there mocking me. So I picked it up. Then I was able to talk about this sad faimly. Then I read every V C Andrews book I could get my hands on.

Like many, I became engulfed in the white trash drama of the Casteel family in the seventh grade. Ashley Anderson gave me a copy in Mr. Nelson's science class one day and from that moment on (or at least for the next year or so, until I finished the series), my life was changed. I gave the book five stars, but keep in mind, I read it over fifteen years ago. However, the impact was obviously huge. So take the reccomondation how you see fit. Also-Just for fun....Compare and contrast Heaven by VC Andrews to Fancy by Reba McEntyre. I think you will see the coorelation.

I love this book! Pure melodrama! I can't wait to read the next one in the series.
