this is the worst v.c andrews book by far. i have read nearly all of them she is my fav author but this book is bad. really bad. i would not reccomend it to anyone.

It was okay - I didn't hate it, but it wasn't the best thing I've read. There were a lot of random story lines that I didn't feel had - or will have - anything to do with the overall plot. It's the first in a series and I doubt I'll read the rest of it. A lot of the subject matter of this book really rubbed me the wrong way, simply because the main character is a little girl and she's put into some fairly awful situations.

this was the first glimpse of Jordan March and how her life is to unfold. We learn that money doesn't buy happiness nor peace of mind.

Started a little slow and ended horribly. Obviously, written with sequel in mind. I believe a novel should stand on its own but now you have to track down the next one. Otherwise, an interesting story that wanted you to keep reading.

Creepy and unsettling. The ending was a bit weak, but as there is a sequel, that makes sense.

V.C. Andrew books has always been one of my little guilty pleasures!

I'm going to start out by saying I did like the book but I did not like the fact that the main character was only 6 or 7.

I understand the story is about a child going through precocious puberty and therefore she needs to be quite young but to then add the sexual element of her brother touching her (albeit for his research) and a 16 year old girl molesting her is a bit too dark for my liking. What 16 year old would do that to a 7 year old. It is sickening. I know these are supposed to be dark books and many others feature 15/16 year old girls and/or incest etc but it's easier to swallow when they're so much older. The thought that she is 7 years old just doesn't leave your mind for a second which kind of spoiled the story for me.

It is a good book though just not happy about the age of the heroine.

very drug out, the first half of the book seemed to have taken forever to get through. It wasn't til after that first half that I became interested- and with that, it ended quickly. Looking into another to follow up with Ian and Jordan AND mom!

Virginia Andrews is one of my guilty pleasures & this first part of her spring series hasn,t let me down.

Again I feel that this book totally missed the mark. It was outrageous for the sake of it and I didn’t really buy in to the deep dark secrets. Plus, one thing that really bugged me about this book was that we’ve already had a character called Jordan March. Couldn’t Niederman be bothered to think of a new one?

I mean, it takes a lot at this point for me to be truly disgusted by a book, but this one sure did it.
