Junie B. is a character that young students can really identify with: one, she's in the grade that this target audience would be as well; and she's just so relateable! Junie makes mistakes and learns from them just like us. In this book, as a teacher I would use it to also teach against cheating, not only to give students a fun option to begin their love for reading. I really loved this one because Junie and her friends are such fun, comedic characters that I think all students will love!
Junie B. Jones is one of my favorite characters. Barbra Parks really paints the picture of of a kindergartner and 1st grade mind with her writing. I like her style of writing because it feels natural to read. She is crazy talented at recognizing how different kids think than adults do.
Junie B. Jones was always one of my favorite series as a kid and I still find it so funny. This specific book is one of my favorites because it feels so relatable for a middle schoolers who may be reading it. It teaches a great lesson about cheating and why it is wrong. I think a lot of times kids don't know what cheating is and why they shouldn't do it, but this book gives them insight into why it's bad. There are so many different types of characters that every student would be able to relate to someone.
I read this series to the girls I nanny and they absolutely love it. They laugh so hard and also get so nervous for Junie B. This book and the whole series is so engaging and really helps young kids get into reading. They can't get enough of it! And it's also funny to me and I enjoy reading it to them, which is always helpful.
