That's a first, the last page quotes the title in full. Vivacious successful business owner has HIV. Doesn't know who of her many lovers passed this death sentence onto her as she writes them all messages to say get yourselves checked. She sells up planning her dying years in gay friendly San Fran but stops by hometown Idlewild for time with sister. Small town gossip a local crack community and a malicious wife of a reverend cause trouble. The sisters are at crisis points and figuring out how to stay grounded amongst the local dysfunction. They find love in an abandoned crack baby sisterhood in empowering young black mothers to stand in their own power and love comes calling in the appearance of an older family friend. She stops planning her death instead choosing the love all around her.

Another good book by Pearl Cleage. Ava finally finds what she's looking for and instead of feeling like her world is coming to an end, she is truly living. Her sister Joyce, working hard to help the unwed mothers of Idlewild and gets her own bundle of joy in the process. We need more "Wild Eddies" in this world. For me this book represented love conquering fear and when wrong stands in the way of right...right wins everytime.

The best part about this book was the running theme of the title and how to tied the story together in the end. Great Book!
