Exceleltn book. It has most of Kahlils work in it and great pieces of his literature to read. I often go back to this book for comfort and thought. It is very thought provoking.
This books introduced me to his writings. The melody of his words is seductive and my favorite poem is the one about Life of Love. The winter brought me to tears.
Beautiful. My own personal views of the Church and Jesus are summed up in The Crucified and I want Song of the Soul to be read at my funeral someday. I always wondered if I was the only one who felt the way I do but found a kindred spirit in Kahlil Gibran. So glad to have found his work. Sums up the Holy Spirit perfectly in today's materialistic world.
I enjoyed The Prophet by this author, so when I saw this Treasury of almost all his other writing, I thought I'd give it a shot. I've been reading it a little at a time so I have time to digest all the individual tales, parables, and poems without them all running together. Gibran has thoughts about almost every subject and explains them all in great detail. :) He is a loving chap with good friends. He has a deep sense of right and wrong that didn't always match up with the religious leaders' ideas. He was man spiritual person who loved God, but he didn't believe that organized religion was working in the best interests of its people. He despised corruption and greed. I think I would've liked him. I placed sticky flags on all the pages and quotes that I loved and the book is a colorful rainbow now, so I won't be putting all of my favorites here. I will just say that all readers should have a little Gibran in their lives.
