Apesar de apresentar alguns exemplos mais antigos de tecnologia e códigos-fonte, gostei bastante da leitura. Considero que vários conceitos apresentados sobre como ser um "programador pragmático" possa auxiliar no desenvolvimento de software mais confiáveis. Onde o programador possa considerar que o desenvolvimento de software deva ser algo mais definido, através de um processo, além de ser, claro, uma atividade criativa.

It's hard to say anything about this book which hasn't been said before. Coding is just one part of the whole software development process and often that's the thing we focus the most on. This book is a must read for every software developer. It contains pearls of wisdom about every aspect of software development, starting with requirement gathering and talking to your users, through prototypes and coding best practices, to delivering a complete, polished piece of software. Best part about the book is that it is abstract and the principles covered in the book are practically timeless.

Vissa tips var riktigt bra, andra något föråldrade. Inget kändes direkt överraskande eller nytt, men hade jag läst den här boken för fem år sedan, när jag var nyexaminerad utvecklare, istället för nu när jag redan snappat upp mycket längs vägen, tror jag att jag hade fått ut betydligt mer av den!

I wish I had come across this book earlier in my career. I read a chapter or two with coffee in the morning before work, and there is so much value packed in here, whether you're an engineer or a manager. A book worth re-visiting regularly, and the chapters can be read in any order. Highly recommended.
