I am wary of books that get us thinking about ourselves, but this one was very good. It identifies lies we believe about ourselves and gives the reader Biblical truth to combat those lies. I appreciated that the focus is on our significance as a believer in Christ, not just our significance; everything hinges on a relationship with Christ. This book helped me be able to articulate my feelings, making my jumbled thoughts more organized and understandable in a way that I can specifically deal with the lies in my life. It’s a good book to meditate on, especially when reading it alongside Scripture.
A good introduction to exploring the places you find personal significance and identity. It can seem a little cheesy/hokey/basic at times, but it provides good practical first steps to seeking to apply truth to your thoughts and emotions in order to bring transformation to behavior.
Loved it. Great advice to overcome Satan’s Lie: self-worth = performance + others opinions. Applicable, scriptural advice based on sound doctrine that identifies common obstacles in the way of our relationship with God.
