Too painful to read. Couldn't even complete the book after several attempts. The book is repetitive to such an extent that sometimes it becomes unbearable. Just read half of the book.

read about half- couldn't get into it, and the LONG mythical story of the Indian woman and her husband avoiding death was lost on me during my commute - eh.

I only choose winners to read, or I like everything I read, not sure. If you want to keep an open mind, and a chance to let your mind work it's magic I think you'll enjoy this book. For me it was a liberating book, freeing me from the constraints of popular belief in today's society. This is how I think!

Best sentence in any book I have read, page 11 to the effect of the body that you appear in from the astral plain is the body you were most comfortable in in life. The people who have visited me after their death appeared to me exactly that way. I was raised in the Catholic faith and I am enjoying integrating more of eastern religions into my beliefs.

Deepak Chopra writes with clarity and has many references. He really does his research, whilst sharing his knowledge and opinions. He talks about both Eastern and Western views of death and the afterlife. A lot of it comes from India and Buddhism, but it's very interesting. As long as you are open minded, which I am.

If you don't think like Neil deGrasse Tyson, where nothing happens when you die, then this is a very interesting read. If you want to read about the afterlife, consciousness, and life beyond the physical body, then read this! It actually changed the way I see death.

I find the subject fascinating and it makes the dying sound less like the worse thing in the world, and more like a possible adventure about the begin. I think it's worth the read since we will all die at some point.

I suppose this is a quirky book to choose for the beginning of a new decade! Some might think it's morbid but it's not. It's actually about being aware of death, not as something to be afraid of, but as the natural counterbalance to life. And when you acknowledge death from a place of acceptance, without fear, life becomes a bit sweeter. This is made slightly easier by the fact that Chopra's descriptions of death make it sound not bad at all, not quite a yoga retreat but pretty zen all in all.

Deepak is awesome. This was a wonderful, if not very deep book that required me a lot of time to digest. That being said I’m 100 percent in and looking forward to reading some of the books he recommends at the end. I most enjoyed him interspersing stories in between the heavy lifting, it helped explain pretty deep topics. I definitely recommend!

Mõnes mõttes oli see raamat veidi nii-öelda out of my league.
Huvitaval kombel on mitmeid teaduslikke teese, millega materialistliku elufilosoofia kohaselt asju seletatakse, mida mul on olnud lapsest saati raske uskuda ning mida ma pole kunagi omaks võtnud.
