2/2013 In Arizonia. I wanted to read Fern Michaels so I read this. It was a good story but the heat was a good word for the whole book mighty steamy. This is a series but I do not want to waste my time. I read more scrape this time because I did not take enough good books. But I did try some authors that I had wanted to try.
The continuation of a family's quest to improve their lives and those around them. How mistakes made haunt generations. A twisted yet poignant trilogy that should be read entirely although isn't necessary. Sally's legacy is left in Fannie's hand at the resentment of her husband and his brother. Some very behind the scenes events going on the strong will of a woman determined not to be walked on. Loved it. Fern Michaels has a wonderful grasp on the pen!
Book 2 in Vegas trilogy, could not put is down. Yest some parts are pretty emotional. Love how Michaels puts the family values first and foremost. Great to read about generous souls and family dynamics. A wonderful twist at the very end.
I picked this book off a shelf in the beach house I was staying in, otherwise I never would have read it. Can't say it was a happy accident as I really did not like it. The story was all over the place and so full of self pity and adult temper tantrums it was really depressing. I think I skipped over most of the book and didn't miss a beat.
This book was not as good as some of the others in the series (I read them out of order). There was too much stalling and "thinking" and indecision, and too many coincidences. I got a little disgusted with Fanny. She and Ash are divorced, but she is still at his beck and call even though it disrupts her life. She is also too busy feeling guilty over things not her fault. Among other characters, Sonny proves to be an ass for most of the book. She is very unforgiving of her mother for not being active in her life even though Fanny does not live close by. The best part of the book was when Ash kills his brother who is an obsessive control-freak to protect Fanny.
Didn't realize this was part of a trilogy until I was almost finished. It was ok but I think I would've liked it better if I had read other books in series first.
