So many highlighted passages in this sutra of emptiness, contradiction, kindness, love, and connectedness.
I will revisit this throughout the rest of this life.

In 1956 Gary Snyder told Jack Kerouac to "write sutra." This is the brilliant result--the meeting of Buddha's enlightenment with [Kerouac's] understanding.

An uplifting read. I will reread many times.

Short, sweet, and full of wonderful things we all ought to learn sometime. A book that I'm sure I'll read and reread until the words are burned into my brain.

To paraphrase a sutra - if you understand, throw this away. if you don't understand, throw this away. So, away it goes!

today i got tattooed by a poet & i got to reread this while they worked! wow! what a good sunday!

it is a very lovely surprise to pick a book up without looking closely at it at a used bookstore, stick it into a pile for months, spontaneously rediscover its presence in my shelves, then read it to find it is exactly what i needed in this moment
