This is the second time I’ve tried to read this book, and the second time I’m putting it down without finishing. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.

Me parece interesante como está en busca de anécdotas pendiente,no del presente si no de cómo lo va a contar, como te lo va a vender.
Realmente me llegó algunas de sus reflexiones y me divertí con sus desgracias

Aprendí de cortes, de castillos de tractores y de lucha datos que no están de más para empezar una conversación!
Descubrí que tengo puros amigos de aire y que Elon Musk es el nuevo hombre cohete, que quiero construir un castillo de princesa pero sin humedad, que nunca seré tan guapa como bratt, que está bien pedirle a alguien que bote mis mis juguetes cuando muera,escuché de muchos libros interesantes autores que quiero leer, la importancia de la fábula, que no confíe en joven rusas de internet que quiera que les pague un pasaje de avión, que aunque no hagas daño a nadie resucitas el odio de la gente, que cuando compartes una historia deja de ser tuya y que nunca te afeites con crema depilatoria!

A nice collection of essays and short stories. Some of them lack the punch of his fiction, but are great tales nonetheless. I especially liked when he got personal and shared some of his life. Well worth the read, but if you are expecting Choke or Suvivor you may want to adjust yout thinking before picking it up.

So it started out all right, but really crashed and burned in my opinion, maybe because I lost patience. This is a collection of stories, some interesting and indeed, almost stranger than fiction, others average. It is at its best when relating other people's stories, worst when it Palahniuk recording his own musings, which to me seemed as if he's trying too hard, and personal stories, which are not generally strange but seem more the experiences of a person who doesn't want to be well-adjusted, even when he's verging on it.

When I purchased this book I was hoping for several interesting stories that Chuck had experienced throughout his life. I kind of got that, although this book is more of a collection of unrelated articles stitched together. I enjoyed some of them, and I had to drag myself through others.

Chuck Palahniuk is definitely an artist of some kind; an observer and critique of the human condition. If you can tolerate his writing style, and the random nature of these articles, you’ll find a few pearls of wisdom buried in this publication.

Quizás fue mala idea comenzar a leer a Palahniuk con «Error humano» pues veo que muchos se sienten más atraídos por su ficción que por su crónica/relato. Sin embargo, la lectura me fue agradable, influenciada por diversos sentimientos que te generan las diferentes historias, que van desde el asco y la tristeza, hasta generarte mucha risa o incredulidad.
Algunas historias se hacen sumamente pesadas, supongo que las que son «demasiado estadounidenses» para mi gusto.
Por otro lado, la ficción está construida Gracias a la realidad, y entre tantos relatos que van desde lo personal e intimo en la vida de un autor recién lanzado a la fama (por el club de la lucha al que refiere en muchas ocasiones), me parecerá muy interesante ir a revisar las maravillas que pueda hacer Palahniuk en otro terreno literario, si bien este libro no me encantó, si me generó altas expectativas para las demás obras del autor. De hecho, escribo esto en mi escritorio y ya tengo «asfixia» listo para comenzarlo.

Here’s a question for you: can Chuck Palahniuk do wrong?? It doesn’t seem so to me. From someone who I associate so strongly with dark, twisted, soulful fiction I have now found dark, twisted, soulful nonfiction as well. Stranger Than Fiction is a masterful blend of storytelling, lecturing and questioning; in every way that Palahniuk explores his stories to find something deeper about them, he does the same to his readers and pushes them to look beyond the ordinary. Through Palahniuk’s way of speaking about the extraordinary as if it were run-of-the-mill, each of the book’s sections — People Together, Portraits and Personal — flip the world on it’s head in unique ways; from a touching (yes, touching) interview with Marilyn Manson to a Testicle Festival, GQ photo shoot gone wrong and a drunken seance, Palahniuk crafts morals like a man who dared to stare the devil straight in the eyes and broke the silence with a fart noise.

8 días y 3700 scrolleadas. El primer libro de historias/ensayos de Palahniuk que leo, el que más se ha asemejado es Fantasmas porque son un compilado de historias.

Las historias son bastante variadas, pero tienen 3 grandes apartados. Gente Reunida. Retratos. Personal. De las cuales habla de personas y actividades que los relacionan. Personas "famosas" e historias personales de Palahniuk.

Todas las historias nos ayudan a comprenden un poco más la mente, motivación y libros de Palahniuk.

Aunque no me gustaron todas, y la parte de retratos fue la más difícil, hay unas muy rescatables. Cómo la de Marilyn Manson y el apartado de Personal. La de gente reunida me recordó a sus historias de fantasmas.

Tristes, desgarradoras, brutalmente honestas. Es menos ficción pero más realidad. Más narcotizacion menos transgresión.

Un libro que probablemente debí haber leído antes de él. A ver qué más nos depara el año de Palahniuk.
