I thought there would be some great revelations...good scholarship and research.

I appreciated the connections between Smith's first novel and the classics that could have contributed to her work. She is so well-read.

Very well written. I admire this book for the fantastic writing, but found it difficult to get into.

Quite good for one of the first responses.
