From a purely intellectual perspective, this book presents many astonishing evidences of the authenticity of the Book of Mormon. While there are many more, this is good start and may serve to nourish one's curiosity about the Book of Mormon and its origins. Then, one may put it to the spiritual test.

This is a great exploration of what was done by Joseph Smith Jr. as he translated the Book of Mormon. It includes fascinating information about languages and patterns of speech by different authors in the scriptures. Those authors include Jesus, Father in Heaven, Captain Moroni and many others.

Curious and interesting read that I wish I'd come across years ago. Short and sweet.

I read it with great pleasure during my mission in 90 or 91. It was very interesting to learn about the semitic traits of the Book of Mormon. It's a very easy read. I loved to learn the story of the seer stones so early and have always been amused since then when critiques say that the church have been hiding facts like this about the translation process - not to me! :-) I also read a lot of Hugh Nibley's work during my mission, which is on a completely different level. Combined with intellectual evidences from other sources, I compiled material for a fireside that I've held in several stakes and in many countries. Doing it again next month, in London. Fun times!

I actually really liked this one. There was that one series that I can't remember for the life of me(I saw the first movie, and been wanting to read the books) that I enjoyed. Definitely wasn't disappointed with this book.

It's pretty much about the author traveling to where Nephi, his brothers, his mom, and his father Lehi lived back in the day. Where the scriptures were saved and added(which was the beginning of the Book Of Mormon pretty much, or the writing of it anyway).

He also mentioned that there's details about the book that even other scholars have found and have been impressed with when analyzing it and reading it. Some expected to find words that made no sense, but I found it cool that they were amazed of how well written it was, though Joseph Smith had barely any schooling. One man even joined the church, feeling that it was the right church. Not saying that everyone has to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but I found it fascinating that people from other faiths and beliefs found the book interesting, and some even enjoyed it.

I also enjoyed learning about where all of the languages originate from. How the book originated from one of the main groups of languages, and how a young man managed to learn some complicated languages, and translate(which was proved by scholars) so well. I think God definitely helped him. Either way, religious or not, it's interesting learning details about different things, and translation to things, how some of the languages work in speaking and writing styles, and so on!

Today, some of those are dead, but some still live on. It's cool to visit this past of ours, and to see where things can come from. For me anyway, sometimes it makes it more meaningful. Though could be just me.

Read this while getting my car fixed. Almost wish it were longer and more extensive, but I learned many new things. A quick read that's worth it.

I love this book

I have had copies of an email from someone else that talks about Sami Hanna. I offered to let a lady read it, but then she wouldn't give it back to me. I tried to convince her at least twice again that I'd copy it and give her a copy. She simply refused. Then later I found this book and bought it from a local book store. Then we moved twice in less than two years and I haven't been able to find it again. I was looking through some old papers and found the name of this book. So I searched for it on Amazon and bought the ebook version for my Kindle. I was so happy to find the story of Sami Hanna and how his journey brought him to BYU and he translated the Book of Mormon back into Egyptian. He reveals how that though the English translation is awkward at best, the translation back into Egyptian (which is a Semitic language) makes perfect sense!!
