Kniha sa mi páčila, pekne vykreslené pocity a dej. Naopak ľahko predvídateľný záver, jednoduchý príbeh. Ale inak pekné.

n  Love Stories Re-Read Project, Book #1n

The protagonist in this book, Amy, is your average girl with a girl best friend (Blythe) and boy best friend (Rick). One night after a study session, Rick kisses her but she's not interested -- Amy's into an older boy from her swim team named Chris. Turns out he likes her too, but Amy's Mom is super strict and doesn't want her to date, so they have to sneak around. Her grades and swim performance plummet and she freaks, because she's in a poor single parent household & is going to need scholarships for college. Chris is blase about it because he's a rich boy who could give two shits about school, and hasn't figured out anything yet for his future. So they break up, Amy gets her crap back together and quits being a bitch to her friends. I honestly thought she was going to throw him over for Rick at the big dance, but instead she sets up Rick with Blythe, who has a mad crush on him. And Amy talks to Chris, like a rational human being, and they work things out. He now sees how douchey he was being expecting Amy to focus all her time on him. He also had a college visit to Stanford that changed his view on things. The book ends with them back together, being more adult & reasonable about their relationship.

Overall, a cute little book that clocked in at under 200 pages and was very unassuming. It took so little of my life (an hour) that I don't regret reading it. I won't be rereading it ever, but it was better than I was expecting. It was nice to see a female main character with a strong same-gender friendship (where they don't slut-shame, or just discuss boys), a focus on her studies and the ability to realize when her romantic relationship was taking over her life -- and correct the problem!!! Tell me how often that happens in contemporary YA nowadays?! Now it's on to book #2, where the best friend is dying and the main girl "shares" her boyfriend with her because she "can't" tell her she loves him too. How much you wanna bet it's cancer?

Have you ever been so focused on school that you never thought you would have time for a love life?
One of Callie's strengths were that she made Amy character a very strong person. She also made Amy's background very interesting and a good reason why she should be doing good in school. Another good strength I think the author made towards the book was Amy's relationship with her mom because at the end of the story Amy's mom is very understanding. The last Strength I think that the author made towards the book is the romantic settings between Amy and Chris because one of the romantic settings was watching the lunar eclipse.
One of the authors weaknesses towards the book I think she made was Amy's relationship between Rick. I think that was a weakness because if Amy hadn't known that Rick liked her then their relationship wouldn't have been awkward and also Amy's friend liked Rick. Another weakness that I think Callie made towards the book was when Chris and Amy broke up. I think that if they had stayed together then Amy would've proven her goals of having a love life and staying focus in school. The last weakness that I think the author made towards the book was Amy going to the dance with her friend and Rick. I think she should have gone with Chris because that's who she really wanted to be with.
I recommend this book because if you want to learn how to handle not having a love and just try focusing in school then this is the book for you.

Simplistic.

For teens it´s good. And some boundaries were settled in the end. So be it.

First off, can't that guy on the cover just pull his pants up? God, that's an unappealing cover.

Pretty quick read. Mixed feelings. A pretty low quality writing, but it is expected for a short read and pretty fast. Kind of slightly overwhelming because is this for real? I mean yeah it is fiction, but is fiction.. this fictional? Um.

Crazy, kind of liked and dislikes the ending though, and puleez I still cannot get over that guy's trousers like pull them up PLS.

I thought that it was a very good book. I have learned many things about love and life in general from reading this book. For example, I learned that grades and other important things should basically come first and there should not be too much love so that it interferes with the other important things in your life. This book teaches many other important lessons. I enjoyed the book and I would love to read more of Callie West books! My First LoveCallie West
