I am not normally a fan of short stories…but Ian McEwan is such a brilliant writer. I felt abnormally sated after completing this collection. He succeeded in creating an unusual cast of characters who are frighteningly real. Their stories compelling.

All of these stories except for one were very middle of the road for me.
Some of the content is quite dark and depraved but it mostly did little to the actual plot.
The only star I enjoyed and would give four stars to Butterflies.

I am glad I read it though. Let's see what else McEwan comes up with.
