I'm amazed about how this just keeps getting better. Loving all the action, mystery, and occasional comedy (which we don't get to see that often anymore).
Bleach, Vol. 12 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next nine chapters (99–107) of the on-going manga series with a bonus story "A Wonderful Error".
After Hanatarō Yamada and Ganju Shiba carry Ichigo Kurosaki to safety so the former can heal him in the underground tunnels, the heavily injured Renji Abarai is incarcerated by his squad captain Byakuya Kuchiki after the other Soul Reapers stopped him from executing his subordinate for being defeated.
As the Seireitei has now declared war on the intruders, Tōshirō Hitsugaya suspects Gin Ichimaru's behavior and warns his friend, Squad Five Lieutenant Momo Hinamori to be careful around him. Momo finds Sōsuke Aizen dead the following day and attacks Gin on the notion that he is responsible. However, it leads to her having a fight with Gin's lieutenant Izuru Kira before Hitsugaya intervenes and has both incarcerated while warning Gin not to harm Momo.
Meanwhile, as Yasutora "Chad" Sado finds himself outmatched by Squad Eight Captain Shunsui Kyōraku, Ichigo finds himself facing the Captain of Squad Eleven: Kenpachi Zaraki.
This tankobon is written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. The incursion into the Seireitei to save Rukia Kuchiki has heightened further by having the Seireitei declaring war on Ichigo Kurosaki and his group. We get to see where team Yasutora "Chad" Sado ends up and unfortunately he has to fight a captain. Parelling his experience is Ichigo Kurosaki as he faces a captain for himself in Kenpachi Zaraki.
All in all, Bleach, Vol. 12 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more.
Definitely an exciting and action packed arc. Love the world building of the Soul Society and the newly ( yeah) introduced characters (and this part started my excitement to the whole new level for the future chapters
I loved this volume because we get to see so much from the Captains’ perspectives and the inner workings of the Soul Reapers within the Soul Society. Despite knowing how this arc plays out, I loved the major death in this volume and how it sets the rest of the story into motion. I liked seeing the captains and assistant captains interact and react to their circumstances and I loved seeing Ichigo encounter a captain level Soul Reaper. I liked learning more about captains and seeing how dangerous they can be, and I liked seeing more from Chad’s perspective and how it highlighted his friendship with Ichigo.
Aizens introduction which is nice to see and ichigo vs Kenny is here. Quite a bit of filler especially with the chad stuff which again was enjoyable but not exactly riveting, although shinsui is just cool.
