For someone who likes all things Dutch, this was a fabulous book. Her descriptions were so vivid, I could picture what the character was seeing. It was a little slow in the beginning, but I am so glad that I stuck to it and finished. I will definitely read her again!

Another great one by Rosiland. Though I've either grown since last reading her books or it seems that this one is lacking some of the steaminess that some of her books have. But the love stories and heartache/challenges are definitely there.

Great historical fiction.

As much as I want to read this story, I simply cannot wade through 585 large pages of miniscule print. On the back burner for now until I can hunt down a large-print copy (if such an animal exists) or find a digital copy.

I really enjoyed this look at 17th Century Holland. I felt I learned a lot about the war between Holland and France, fine art, and tulip bulbs. Well written.

This reminded me a lot of what a Jane Austen novel would be like if it was set in Dutch Holland. The story (set during the aftermath of Tulip-mania and the time of Rembrandt and Vermeer) follows the Visser sisters as they paint (and in once case manipulate) their way to finding true love. A thrilling plot accompanied by rich historical detail.

I did like this historical romance set in the late 1600s-during the time the French were threatening the Netherlands. I gave it 4 stars because I found it well-written and it really immersed me into the Dutch culture and way of life of the Dutch artists. It didn't merit 5 stars only because I felt the ending was too expected-the three sisters all get paired off with their true loves and the evil merchant gets what he deserves (it was a romance after all!). Still well worth reading though.

Great plot with a nice bit of history to keep things intersting. I always enjoy a love storey and this one have three with different approaches to the idea of love.

Wonderful!! I loved the history involved in the book and was so interested in the characters. It took me about 50 pages to get into it and I was addicted.
