We stopped reading after the first 100 pages. We have listened to an audio book that I think must have been an unabridged reading of the book, as we feel that we know the story completely and reading the book isn't bringing anything new for us. As we have many books on our to read shelf at the moment we are going to put this on hold and perhaps return later.

Desde luego, creo que es difícil encontrar una lectura más tierna y entrañable.
Aunque creo que lo hubiese disfrutado más si no hubiese tenido tan reciente la lectura de otro de los iconos de mi infancia (Ana de las Tejas Verdes), por lo que mi consejo es espaciar este libro de lecturas para disfrutarlas del todo.
Otro consejo es tener cuidado con la edición. Yo tuve suerte y en el volumen tenía los dos libros de Spyri. Después existe una continuación, pero no es de la misma autora,...

"Hedi" is a book that most all young girls will enjoy reading.  My 11 yr. old grandaughter enjoyed it very much.  I'm glad I was able to add this book to her library.

Beautiful story and lovely dustcover. This story should be read to/and by children everywhere. It's a wonderful story of love and compassion, loyalty and love of outdoors. To be given to 8 yr old grandaughter.

Heidi was a gift, and the edition I purchased was recommended everywhere, including on Goodreads. My niece was thrilled with it, and is looking forward to reading it to my great niece when she is a bit older. This edition was a "find" but I have a feeling that Book Rescue!! LLC has lots of "finds", because clearly there is a bibliophile at the helm! This gift, a used book, delighted beyond words. PS Delivery was prompt.

I agree, this book deserves many, many stars.  I read it aloud to my seventh-graders.  The old-fashioned language was sometimes a bit difficult for them, but they really enjoyed the story and its theme of learning to trust in God.  Heidi's sweet loving nature is like a breath of fresh mountain air, and her innocent scrapes, longing for her loved ones, and enthusiasm for life make this an all-time favorite book, one I could read every year.
