Sometimes I am still making the mistake of reading secondary texts before the orginal one. Once again I did it. Inspired by watching "Se7en" a hundred years ago and Morgan Freeman searching the NY library after the original Canterbury tales they ended up on my To-Read-List. But I guess I was even more inspired by Brad Pitt getting the CliffNotes to save time I ended up buying these SparkNotes second hand somewhere and reading them.
Anyway I read this one: I barely enjoyed it - quelle suprise. It´s not the fault of the SparkNotes it´s there job to summarize everything briefly and thats what they did. So I definitely know more about the tales and the background of it but actually I want to read the orginal story (what I should have done from the beginning).
Side note: I will definitely get a german-english version of the text. Pure middle english could be a bit challengin for a non-native speaker in my eyes.
