I had heard great things about this book, and I wasn't disappointed. It gives a clear concise picture of Adam's life, with some bold insights. The Author, Ferling, starts out by stating he is not a fan of Adams, but states his good qualities throughout the book. He desired fame and recognition, sometimes above his family. It wasn't until later in his life until he realized what was truly important. Adams was an obstinate, conflicted man, but above all else, he had a passionate love for his country.
