I am a die hard hitchhiker fan.  I love everything to do with it series and it author.  The main thing people who have read the books need to remember is that THE RADIO SHOW CAME FIRST!!!  Of course there are going to be some differences.  Personally I love the radio broadcast.  All of the voices are wonderful and it is easy to picture everything happening in your mind.  For me it was a must own.

Hi there!  Don't panic, I'm just going to give you enough information to tell you that, if you already own the primary, secondary, and tertiary phases of this, as I do, then you're going to want this, *but* be advised that this is probably the weakest of the sets so far, which is why I'm only giving it four stars instead of five.

Also, you ought to know that, unlike the first three sets, this one is only two discs, or four episodes, long, and that the person credited as "Christian Slater" is not really Christian Slater, but instead . . .  Well, if you're a fan of audiobooks as I am, you'll recognize his voice instantly.  He's actually very well cast, since he is in fact in California, and his initials are . . .  Actually, his initials would give the whole game away.  So I won't tell you that either.  But he's done a lot of readings of his own work, and recently, he's done a lot of other readings also, for authors as disparate as Ursula K. LeGuin and Orson Scott Card.  There.  So now you should know.

I'm certainly glad that "they" decided to finally finish this series, even though poor Douglas Adams has been gone for so very long now.  And also, I'm rather astonished that not only Jane Horrocks (a personal favorite of mine) but also Bill Patterson and Stephen Fry would join in on the fun.  I'm glad to have gotten this, and look forward to the exciting conclusion (even though, of course, I've already read the books)!

Hitchhiker's began on radio and audio remains the best medium for enjoying the stories.  All the original actors are here from the first broadcast (the ones that were still alive anyway).  The sound quality is mind-blowing!  This one is based on the fourth book in the series "So Long and Thanks For All The Fish".

My teenage son thoroughly enjoys the quirkiness of this series and has listened to the disks 2 or 3 times.

I would have preferred that Doug had written it but what can you do?  It lacks Doug's style and flavor but it was a nice listen.

Now, with a mission to continue with the story, the BBC immediately launch into the next book of this multi-volume epic in 2005. I had, in the dim past, listened to the first two “phases” of the series many times on the radio. I had never heard the Tertiary through Quintessential phases before discovering them here on Audible. And, of course, the Hexagonal Phase had never been heard before. It has just been released!

It is so fantastically wonderful that Audible has this entire series. I can now enjoy it whenever the mood hits and that is frequently.

For me the most memorable feature is: Arthur meets Fenchurch, falls in love, has adventures, and loses Fenchurch. Naturally. I love the Fenchurch character. And Marvin finally turns up at the end!

This was a rollicking good time!

This continues the excellent radio series.
Having really enjoyed the 'Primary Phase', liked 'Secondary Phase' and enjoyed the 'Tertiary Phase' I was unsure what to expect from this fourth phase. But I need not have worried it's a very good and adaptation of the 'So Long and Thanks for all the Fish' book.
There are some very good story lines, the rain god story is very amusing and the bisuits in the cafe is also good.
This phase is I reckon my favourite one so far.

If you like 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' and have enjoyed previous phases of the radio show then give this a go.
