#3 in the Cat Royal series. While I haven't been impressed with the writing in any of the books, the stories have kept me engaged, and this one continued to do so. Cat Royal has lived in the theater her whole life, but when her manager/protector decides to shut it down for a few years to build a whole new theater, Cat doesn't know where she'll go, especially since all of her friends are leaving London--the brawny boxer Syd is off to the country, her royal friends Frank and Lizzie are off to Paris, and her violinist friend Pedro is off to tour Europe. When she gets a chance to go to Paris to be a spy of the common people since a revolution is going underway, she gets entangled (as usual!) in the underworld of thieves and has to use her street smarts and resourceful friends to escape the situation.
I really liked this book, it was probably one of my favorites so far in Cat Royal, I thought her adventures in Paris were very interesting and meeting a thief King {J-F}. Johnny and Lizzie was cute, I thought they were the cutest couple ever.
This is about Cat Royal, child of the Drury Theatre where she was brought up. She becomes a spy and goes to France during the French Revolution and ends up in deeper trouble trying to go between the different factions of aristocracy and thieves. All comes out well in the end. This is a young adult book I picked up at the library, and really enjoyed it.
The 3rd book in the Cat Royal series. Cat, an orphan, lives at the Theater Royal in Drury Lane, England. When the owner decides to tear down the theater to build a new one, Cat has no where to go! The books takes the reader on various adventures which are engaging. The characters are interesting, and with a dollop of history and travel, it all adds up to a worthwhile read. Suitable for all, but especially middle school aged.
Catherine Royal, better known as Cat, certainly has the proverbial nine lives. She is a delightful character. How she deals with scurrilous business men, mob violence, rulers of the underworld, and the politics of the French Revolution makes for an exciting and fascinating tale.
As always, it is a Cat Royal adventure, therefore - it is amazing! I love Cat and all her escapades. This book is especially scrumpcious, being set in the turbulent time of the French Revolution! It will not disappoint
Julia Golding books are always a wonderfully worded to make a world that you feel apart of! Julia Goldind is one of my favourite authors and I would recomened the 'Cat Royal' Series!!!n n
