Read all except Homilies of St John. The latter seems to be an exegesis of the work rather than anything else.

The last book I read as a part of my M.Div at Western Seminary in a class titled, "Augustine for the Modern World."

The first of the three collections contained in this book, "De Trinitate," is one of the most foundational works on the Trinity, having influenced in some respect every conversation about the Trinity since Augustine wrote it. Exceptional content, though difficult to read.

The final of the three collections, "1 John Homilies," is much more accessible and easy to read. Augustine's sermons on 1 John were directly informed by his desire to shepherd his church through the Donatist controversy. That context is essential to understanding Augustine's passionate plea to love God and love brother.

Will hope to write a review later, but overall an amazing book. The Homilies on 1 John really highlight some of Augustine's greatness as a preacher. And homily 8 was
