The first half of this volume was truly great.

Yay for Sumire winning over Ms. Lee! It was such a satisfying moment to see her overcome the challenge and gain the upper hand.

And the heartwarming old lady flashbacks were an added bonus. They brought a sense of nostalgia and warmth to the story.

However, I am not feeling positive about the upcoming plot developments. There is a sense of unease that lingers within me.

I'm not sure what lies ahead for the characters, and this uncertainty makes me a bit cautious.

Overall, I would rate this volume 3 stars. It had its亮点, but the lack of clarity regarding the future plot keeps me from being overly enthusiastic.

Maybe the next part will surprise me and turn things around for the better. Only time will tell.

If this volume had focused more on Hasumi and Sumire and the mystery of 'who is the little boy's father', it would have been closer to a 3.5-star rating. Fortunately, the cliffhanger from the previous volume is resolved quickly. However, Sumire's visit to Hong Kong to see Hasumi ends on an unresolved note. What I like is that it's not overly dramatic. It's just an odd feeling that Sumire has, along with the fact that she wants to go home. She loves Hasumi but also wants to be with Momo.

That's what makes the love triangle strangely affecting. Sumire loves one man but needs another, whether she wants to or not.

Then there's one of the highlights for me in this series. Takeshi/Momo meets an older lady in the park and helps her walk her dog. I love this little vignette, just like I liked the one in the previous chapter when they met the two children and the mermaid story. The old woman and her dog are bittersweet yet lovely.

Also, the chapter regarding Sumire and her grandfather is a highlight too. She thinks she will skip his birthday. They aren't particularly close. His favorite is Shinobu, her older sister. Then she and Momo go up to a shrine and on the stairs she recalls a memory of her grandfather that makes her reconsider. It's a lovely and sweet moment.

What prevents me from giving it a 5-star rating is the ending. There are always elements from older stories that didn't seem significant before but now do (for example, Takeshi nearly taking advantage of Sumire when she has short-term amnesia). I can tolerate that situation, even if it doesn't quite work now. Takeshi doesn't actually take advantage of Sumire, but it's still cringe-worthy. But Shiori's actions at the end of the volume are truly a problem. It was a problem for me when I first read it in the mid-2000s, and it remains a problem for me a decade later.

This volume has two of my favorite moments, but there are also some moments that make me shake my head.

Omg.

Trigger warning for sexual assault for this one. It's truly shocking to think about how she would go that far.

One would never have expected such a thing from her.

It makes you wonder what could have led her to take such extreme actions.

Perhaps there were underlying issues or pressures that no one was aware of.

Whatever the case may be, this incident has left a lasting impact.

It serves as a reminder that we should always be vigilant and aware of the people around us.

We can never truly know what someone is capable of until they show us.

This situation is a tragic one, and it's important that we offer support and understanding to those who may have been affected by it.

Hopefully, lessons will be learned from this and steps will be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

WDYM SHE SPIKED HIS DRINK?

This statement is quite alarming. What exactly does it mean when someone says that a woman spiked a man's drink? Spiking a drink is a very serious and dangerous act. It could involve adding a substance, such as a drug or alcohol, to someone's beverage without their knowledge or consent. This can have various negative consequences for the person whose drink has been spiked. They may experience dizziness, confusion, nausea, or even more serious health problems. In some cases, spiking a drink can lead to sexual assault or other forms of violence. It is important to take this accusation seriously and to investigate it thoroughly. If there is evidence that a drink has been spiked, the authorities should be notified immediately. We need to raise awareness about the dangers of spiking drinks and work together to prevent such incidents from happening.

At this moment, it seems a bit stagnant.

Neither of her relationships is progressing significantly, lacking the necessary momentum to move forward.

Moreover, it unfortunately contains the dreaded SA scene, which might have a certain impact on the overall atmosphere.

However, I did have a liking for the chapter where she assumes the role of the pet and he is the owner.

It was rather cute and added a touch of charm to the story.

Despite the drawbacks, this aspect managed to capture my attention and bring a smile to my face.

Perhaps with some adjustments and developments in the future, the story can break free from its current state of stagnation and become even more engaging.

So the baby mama drama situation got solved really quick.

I was really hoping for the pet-owner role reversal chapter to be much longer. It seemed like it had so much potential to be really interesting and engaging. But OH WELL, they just bailed on anything that was remotely interesting, it appears!

That ending was --- eww. She really did Hasumi dirty, didn't she? It's quite disappointing how things turned out. One moment you think the story is going in a certain direction, and then suddenly it takes a turn that leaves you feeling a bit let down.

Maybe there was more that could have been explored in the pet-owner role reversal aspect. It could have been a really unique and entertaining part of the story if they had developed it further. But instead, it was cut short, and we were left with this rather underwhelming conclusion.

Overall, while the baby mama drama was resolved quickly, the lack of development in other areas and the unappealing ending left something to be desired.

Homecomings are often anticipated with great excitement and joy. However, they can also bring new complications that one might not have expected.

When people return home after a long absence, there are usually changes that have occurred in their absence. The familiar surroundings may no longer feel the same, and relationships with family and friends may have evolved.

For example, a person who has been away at college may find that their hometown has changed, and they no longer fit in as well as they once did. Or, a person who has been working abroad may have developed new habits and perspectives that are different from those of their family and friends at home.

In addition, homecomings can also bring financial and logistical complications. There may be expenses associated with traveling home, such as airfare or transportation costs. And, once a person is home, they may need to find a place to live, deal with bills and taxes, and figure out how to integrate back into the local community.

Despite these complications, homecomings can also be a time of great growth and renewal. By facing the challenges that come with returning home, a person can learn more about themselves and their place in the world. And, by reconnecting with family and friends, they can strengthen their relationships and create new memories that will last a lifetime.

I'm extremely glad that Sumire has finally started to relax and spend time with Hasumi. It's a really nice development. However, of COURSE, he just has to be with that lady. It's a bit frustrating, but also adds an interesting element to the story.

The amnesia part was quite fluff, but at the same time, it was hilarious. XD It made me laugh out loud. I wonder how it will affect the characters and the plot in the future.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this story and can't wait to see what happens next. Will Sumire and Hasumi get closer? What will happen with that lady? These questions keep me on the edge of my seat.

I am currently experiencing a situation where I am being slow burned in the most intense way.

It's like a slow, simmering process that is gradually consuming me. But strangely enough, I find myself not only living through it but also loving every moment of it.

Maybe it's the anticipation that keeps me hooked, or perhaps it's the way it makes me feel alive and on edge.

Whatever the reason, I can't seem to get enough of this slow burn.

It's like a drug that I willingly take, knowing full well the consequences.

But for now, I'm just going to ride this wave and see where it takes me.

After all, life is all about taking risks and experiencing new things, right?

So here's to the slow burn, and to living and loving it to the fullest.

What a problematic ending!

It's truly exasperating.

One moment, everything seems to be going in a certain direction, and then suddenly, bam!

The ending just throws a curveball and leaves you feeling completely unsatisfied.

It makes you wonder what the author was thinking.

Was it a last-minute decision?

Or perhaps they just couldn't figure out a better way to wrap things up.

Either way, it's a letdown.

You invest all this time and energy into reading the story, getting to know the characters and the plot, and then this is what you get.

Aughhh!!! It's enough to make you want to scream.

But, alas, there's nothing you can do about it now.

You just have to accept the fact that sometimes, endings are just plain bad.

The pace of the story is slowing down a bit, which is rather unfortunate.

However, there is a really funny chapter that occurs when the roles are reversed. In this chapter, Sumire has to be Takeshi's pet for a day! It's not only great fun to read about, but through this experience, Sumire also realises that some of her previous behavior towards Momo might have been a bit degrading.

Nevertheless, I'm really not okay with the cliffhanger. Sexual assault is an extremely serious issue and should not be okay in any form. I'm quite disappointed that this is part of the storyline. It really takes away from the overall enjoyment of the story and makes me question some of the choices made by the author.

I hope that in future installments, the author will handle this sensitive topic more carefully and not use it as a cheap plot device to create drama.
