I'm truly in a state of great enthusiasm when it comes to this series. In fact, I'm going to such lengths as getting these books sent from libraries in different provinces. This shows just how deeply enamoured I am with it. The anticipation of finally finishing the series keeps driving me. I can't wait to explore every page, every story, and every character. So I found myself in a rather interesting situation. I had purchased 3 random mystery mangas, not really knowing what to expect. And without having read any of the previous volumes, I dived straight into volume 16. To my surprise, I actually liked it! The story seemed to draw me in, despite my lack of background knowledge. The art style was engaging, and the characters had a certain charm. It made me wonder what the earlier volumes had in store. Maybe I would go back and explore them at some point. But for now, I was content with the enjoyment I had gotten from this one volume. It just goes to show that sometimes, taking a random chance can lead to pleasant surprises.

The best part was truly remarkable. It was when Yuri reappeared in the spring, making a highly dramatic entrance.

The people, in an instant, started calling Yuri their Tawananna, which understandably enraged Nakia.

However, the story took another unexpected turn. Shockingly, Queen Nakia agreed to King Kail's proposal. She consented to have Yuri as his wife, but with certain conditions.

This development added a new layer of complexity and excitement to the narrative. It left the readers on the edge of their seats, wondering what would happen next.

Would Yuri accept the conditions? How would Nakia ensure that the conditions were met? These questions lingered in the air, making the story even more captivating.

Overall, these two moments were the highlights of the story, drawing the readers in and keeping them engaged until the very end.

First of all, Kail is a horny bastard XD. Every time something slightly intense occurs to Yuri, he essentially has the thought of "Let's bang." I'm really glad that she finally said no to him this time :-p.

Secondly, if Yuri is extremely proficient in martial arts and all that, then why on earth does she never fight back when she is being kidnapped all these times? Seriously? She could probably thrash all those people and escape with ease. *sigh* It's a bit frustrating for me because she is supposed to be this powerful female who is capable of leading an entire empire, and there are numerous moments when she demonstrates her abilities. However, she always finds herself in a difficult situation and is unable to extricate herself until Kail or the sisters or someone else comes to her rescue. I truly wish she would just take matters into her own hands and kick some ass for once because we all know she has the capability to do so!

Welcome to Book 16! Here, Rusafa shows that he is a far better man than almost every other guy who has desired to be close to Yuri. (The possible exceptions are Kikkuri and Ilbani, who are clearly KailxYuri forever.) Interestingly, as these books unfold, Nakia (and Urhi) begin to rely on the flaws of human nature that Yuri's group basically doesn't have. At least not in a way that Nakia can exploit against her.

Anyhow! Awww, love! Ignore the age gap ignore the age gap ignore the age gap But Nakia quickly shatters this with her oh so reasonable request that Yuri become the Commander-in-Chief of the Hittite Forces. You know, because she is the Warrior Goddess Ishtar incarnate.

Smh, that woman! She always seems to have some ulterior motive or another. But perhaps this is what makes the story so interesting. Will Yuri agree to her request? Or will she find a way to outwit Nakia and her plans?

I have re-read this from my teenage years to adulthood. It turns out that wasn't the best idea.

This might be my third time reading this series. I'm quite certain I read it twice in the first two years after its release. Back then, I was young and I adored it. It was so romantic. However, after reading it this year, perhaps +15 years later, I realized I was wrong. I could only see a series of wrong turns within wrong turns. Maybe as an adult, our perspectives change and we see things differently.

If you've read a manga or book during your early years and then read it again much later in life, you might end up like me. Loving a series in the past and then having the adult in you laugh at once enjoying them. It's quite a pity.

Do I recommend this? Honestly, unless you are under the age of 20.
