Very solid - a lot of humor from two former investment banking associates - relevant comedy and some truth behind the stories

Almost definitely accurate to what investment banking was like in the late 90s. Not much of a story, felt dated, but fine for what it was

Easy to read. Funny and humorous book. Provides a good high-level insight into the IBD industry.

Really enjoyable read. I enjoyed the insight into the sell side of IB and also the lifestyle. I felt like I learned a bit more about banking but was also well entertained. Best book of this type that I have read. Others are a bit more on the story side but lack some of the banking insight. The only thing I had to get used to is the switch between the two story voices. It is not always obvious when they have switched narrators, but you get used to it.

Funny stories and I appreciated the main message. Some parts quite boring and sometimes a little gross

John Rolfe and Peter Troob wittily recount their time as investment banking associates on Wall Street. Humorous stories from their birth at Harvard and Wharton into a world of greed and hazing at DLJ. Rolfe and Troob's clever prose adequately explain general banking principles and roasts the whole institution all at the same time. It was funny in a similar way to "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" and it had the instructional coherence akin to Michael Lewis books. I would recommend this book to anyone with an understanding of banking. The stories lay bare the depravity of investment banking in the early 2000's and Rolfe and Troobs romp through the hierarchical forest.
