With this, I read The Other Wind and Earthsea stories both before and after this book. Overall, it offers a mostly satisfying resolution to the Earthsea stories. Some of the stories within it are truly quite strong, captivating the reader and adding depth to the rich tapestry of the Earthsea world. In 2025, it seems that I'm reading this out of order as the 6th book, which I'm sure everyone else is well aware of. However, it would have worked better if read in the chronology of the Earthsea stories or as the 5th book. By following the proper sequence, the reader can fully appreciate the development of the characters, the evolution of the plotlines, and the overall coherence of the Earthsea saga. Nevertheless, even out of order, The Other Wind still manages to provide an engaging and enjoyable reading experience, leaving the reader with a sense of closure and a deeper understanding of the magical and mysterious world of Earthsea.
