I gave it 2 stars mainly because I felt really sad for Sai. What took place in book 15 was极其 unfair to him. It seemed as if he was merely a tool, a stepping stone that would be cast aside once no longer required. Where on earth is the reward for him? After waiting for a thousand years, and this is the answer he gets?

I'm actually glad that Hikaru is in a slump at present. He deserves it. How could he dare to forget who introduced him to the Go world in the first place, who tutored him and encouraged him all along the way? I do concur that Akira might be the catalyst to reignite Hikaru's passion to succeed in the Go world. However, without Sai's guidance, Hikaru could never have achieved such lofty heights of success in such a short span of time.

In fact, part of the reason why I'm reading this manga after having completed its Anime version is a tiny glimmer of hope that the story in the manga would fulfill Sai's unresolved wish. Since the manga does continue from where the Anime left off, I had this faint hope. The other reason is simply that I'm missing Sai a great deal.

In this volume, Sai finally... "disappears".

It is truly a moment that leaves readers in a state of wonder and anticipation. Sai's disappearance is both sudden and mysterious, making one question whether he actually disappears for good.

The circumstances surrounding his departure are left somewhat ambiguous, adding an air of intrigue to the story.

One can't help but speculate about the possible reasons behind Sai's disappearance. Could it be that he has fulfilled some sort of mission or purpose? Or perhaps there are forces at work that are beyond our understanding.

As the story progresses, we are left to wonder what will become of Sai and how his absence will impact the other characters. Will he return in the future, or will his disappearance mark a significant turning point in the narrative?

Only time will tell, but for now, Sai's disappearance has left a lasting impression on readers and has set the stage for what is sure to be an exciting and unpredictable continuation of the story.

Oof.

I'm really in a tough spot here, wavering between a 4 and a 5.

For one thing, the loss of Sai is truly heart-wrenching and packs an incredibly huge emotional punch.

It really tugs at the heartstrings and makes you feel the pain and grief.

And as always, the art portion of the comic is absolutely top notch.

The illustrations are so detailed and vivid, bringing the story and the characters to life in the most amazing way.

I may be a bit biased in my fannage here, but ugh.

Yes, it's just that good.

The combination of the emotional story and the stunning art makes it really hard to decide on a rating.

Both aspects contribute so much to the overall experience of reading the comic.

It's a real dilemma.

But no matter what, it's definitely a comic that stands out and is worth reading.

Even though I already knew the story,

this was still an incredibly sad volume to read.

The sensitive person that I am, I just couldn't hold back my tears and ended up crying.

I usually have a habit of re-reading the manga while listening to the dialogue in the anime.

As I mentioned in my review for the first volume, the manga and anime are very closely matched, in fact, most of the time it's word-for-word.

However, this volume was so heartbreaking that I don't think I want to go through that pain and heartache again.

So, there won't be any "anime-manga match-up" in this review.

Maybe someday when I'm in the mood for some gray-day reading and can handle the emotions, I'll come back and add it to the review.

Even though it's painful to read, this volume still gets four stars for the sheer audacity of <...>.

It really managed to tug at my heartstrings and leave a lasting impression.

While it is by no means a terrible sending off for one of the main cast, Volume 15 disappoints when compared to the previous Sai-centric storylines. I must give credit to Yumi Hotta for the brave decision to retire such a consistent presence in the series. It was foreshadowed adequately, and although it is bittersweet, it does bring back a sense of "anything can happen" to the series. However, my main concern is that the build-up feels rather lackluster. On the other hand, the aftermath of the departure is tangible.

I hate to be so critical of this volume, but the execution, while having its merits, also has its fair share of drawbacks for my liking. Nevertheless, I am still eagerly anticipating where Hikaru no Go will go from here. The story has always had its ups and downs, and this volume is no exception. Despite its flaws, it still manages to maintain the essence and charm of the series. I am curious to see how the remaining characters will develop and how the story will progress without Sai. Will there be new challenges and adventures? Only time will tell, but I remain hopeful that Hikaru no Go will continue to captivate readers with its engaging storyline and well-developed characters.

I really hate this story arc.

It just gives the impression of being completely pointless.

Moreover, it is doubly tragic that Sai doesn't even have the opportunity to say a proper goodbye to Hikaru.

I'm not sure if there are people who enjoy this story arc specifically for Hikaru.

However, for me, this aspect really ruins the rest of the series.

It feels like a major letdown and takes away from the overall enjoyment and impact that the series could have had.

I can't help but feel disappointed with how this particular story arc has played out.

It seems to have detracted from the otherwise engaging and interesting narrative that was unfolding.

I hope that future story arcs can redeem the series and bring back the excitement and emotional connection that I initially had.

But as of now, this story arc has left a sour taste in my mouth.

This volume holds significant importance as it basically marks the point where the anime comes to an end.

It is a crucial moment for both the creators and the fans. The story has reached a climax, and all the loose ends are being tied up.

The characters have gone through numerous challenges and transformations throughout the series, and now, in this final volume, their fates are being decided.

The artwork in this volume is also of great quality, with detailed illustrations that bring the story to life.

Each panel is filled with emotion and action, making it a truly immersive experience for the reader.

Whether you are a die-hard fan of the anime or just someone who enjoys a good story, this volume is definitely worth checking out.

It will leave you with a sense of closure and satisfaction, while also making you look back on the entire series with fondness.

So, don't miss out on this final installment and discover how the story concludes.

In this volume, we unfortunately have to say goodbye to Sai. It is truly a very sad moment. Sai has been an important part of our story, and his departure leaves a void in our hearts.

We will always remember the moments we shared with Sai, his unique personality, and his contributions. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to live on in our memories.

Goodbye, Sai. We will miss you dearly. May you find peace and happiness in your new journey.

This rating of 4.25 stars indicates a high level of satisfaction. It suggests that the product or service being evaluated has met or exceeded the expectations of the majority of users. With a score close to 4.5, it implies that there are only a few minor areas that could potentially be improved. However, overall, it is a very positive assessment. The 4.25 stars may be the result of excellent quality, great performance, or outstanding customer service. It could also be due to the product's or service's unique features and benefits that set it apart from the competition. Whatever the reason, a 4.25-star rating is definitely something to be proud of and can serve as a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team behind it.

Yumi Hotta's "Hikaru no Go," volume 15 titled "Sayonara" (published by ViZ in 2009), brings a significant moment.

The day that Hotta has been foreshadowing throughout the series has arrived. It's the time for Sai to leave. Hikaru is so engrossed in his own thoughts that he doesn't realize it until it's too late.

The remainder of the volume focuses on Hikaru's search for Sai. He undertakes a pilgrimage to Torajiro's sacred sites, hoping to find Sai lingering at one of them.

This is an interesting way to incorporate a brief tour of Japan and some captivating scenery without disrupting the plot. However, Akira Toya and Ogata take a backseat in the middle of the volume.

I personally didn't have any issue with this, but others' opinions may differ, albeit only slightly. Overall, I rate it *** ½.

Sai has an intense desire to play a game against Hikaru. However, Hikaru believes they can play at any time. He does allow Sai to play against a drunken Ogata, thinking that Ogata would be too intoxicated to notice Hikaru playing like Sai. But then,

he becomes too tired to play what ends up being Sai's final game against him. When he wakes up, Sai has vanished. Hikaru searches for him in every possible place where Sai might be - all the locations associated with Shusaku - but he is nowhere to be found. Finally, Hikaru realizes that Sai is not coming back. He decides to give up Go, vowing that if Sai ever does return, he will let him play all of his games and never play on his own again. Akira is both confused and worried about Hikaru.

Oh man, it's really unfortunate that I had to skip volume 14. The "story thus far" section in this volume was helpful, but I truly wanted to see the complete match between Sai and Toya Meijin.

It still astonishes me how quickly Sai's disappearance occurs. There are still eight volumes remaining, and one of the series' most prominent characters is gone. I adored the way Hotta and Obata portrayed his last moments, though. It was extremely beautiful, sad, and startling. Hikaru's grief was also well-depicted.

The flow of this volume was sometimes a bit strange, and Hikaru's hunt lasted longer than I would have preferred and seemed like a Shusaku tour in manga form. Overall, though, this was an outstanding and melancholy volume.
