Having witnessed the musical production of Wicked initially, I was rather disappointed to discover that the book bore little resemblance to it. The performance was truly captivating, yet the book seemed to lack the very details that had endeared it to me in the first place. When it comes to 'Son of a Witch', the author Gregory appeared to be in a hurry. One year, two years...soon ten years passed without a smooth narrative flow. However, I must admit that I rather relished the ending. It provided a certain sense of closure and satisfaction that made the reading experience somewhat worthwhile. Nevertheless, compared to the magnificent musical, both the book and 'Son of a Witch' failed to fully capture the magic and essence that had made the musical so unforgettable.
