The gods created the earth for all humans to share. However, later, kings came with their crowns and iron swords, claiming that it was theirs. They would say, "This tree is mine, you can't eat its apples. This river is mine, you can't fish in it. This forest is mine, you can't hunt in it. The earth is mine, the water is mine, the castle is mine, the daughter is mine. Take your hands away, otherwise I'll cut them off. But if you kneel before me, I'll let you take a breath."

This story reflects the unjust and greedy nature of those in power. They try to monopolize everything, leaving nothing for the common people. It shows how power can corrupt and lead to the exploitation of others. We should learn from this and strive for a more equal and just society, where everyone has the right to share the resources of the earth.

A Storm of Swords, penned by the renowned author George R.R. Martin, is the third captivating installment in the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series. By this point, it has firmly established itself as an absolute must-read for all fantasy enthusiasts.

The Battle of the Blackwater has reached its conclusion, yet the Seven Kingdoms remain far from peaceful. The story delves into the aftermath of the brutal slaughter that occurred outside the walls of King's Landing and the ongoing power struggles of the kings vying for control of Westeros. Tywin Lannister has made his way to King's Landing, aiming to assert his dominance over the kingdoms through his grandson, King Joffrey Baratheon. Meanwhile, Robb Stark persists in his campaign to unite the west and rid his mother's homeland of the Lannisters, but now he must also contend with the Ironmen who have seized control of his kingdom in the north. Stannis Baratheon, defeated, retreats to his home of Dragonstone, yet he plots his next move with the assistance of the Red Priestess, Melissandre. On the other side of the world, Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of the last dragons, schemes, maneuvers, and rampages through the Free Cities in the name of justice. All the while, Jon Snow faces the perilous task of infiltrating the massive and reckless barbarian horde as an agent for the Night's Watch.

There is no doubt that this is the best book in the series thus far. Martin, as always, indulges in his meticulous descriptions of every character's clothing and armor, down to the most minute and often absurd details. He also maintains his peculiar penchant for elaborately explaining countless sumptuous meals, with his famous 'birds launching out of pies' dish being a prime example. However, he more than makes up for these idiosyncrasies with a level of realism and grit that is rarely seen in the fantasy genre. This book truly has it all: an abundance of blood, guts, and decapitations, giant knights brutally smashing the heads of helpless stable boys in half, alluring priestesses with red eyes, gratuitous lesbian sex scenes, an angry and noseless midget, and a fat kid who slays zombies. What could be more enticing? Martin weaves some truly astonishing plot twists that catch the reader completely off guard, and he spares no mercy when it comes to torturing, maiming, and killing off key characters. The character development continues to deepen and improve, the action is as thrilling as that in Braveheart, and the magic and mysticism become increasingly intertwined, creating a mysterious and enchanting world. In conclusion, this is the best book I have read in a long time.

It might have been 6 years since I've read this amazing piece of work, but some events are simply etched in my memory forever.

There are so many unforgettable moments, such as the infamous Red Wedding, which sent shockwaves through the story. The Sand snakes added an element of mystery and danger. Jeffrey's presence brought a unique charm. And who could forget the Red Viper? I'm still soooooooo mad about what happened to him!!!

Then there's Ygritte. Just thinking about her makes me want to .

If you've read it, you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about. It's a story that grabs you and doesn't let go.

If you haven't, well maybe it's time you gave it a try. You might just be in for a treat.

How brilliant you are, George R. R. Martin. This huge part and the saga still continues.

The chaos spreads across the land as kings fall or change like changing clothes.

The North still grows more desperate as its great men scatter across the land or are killed.

The danger comes from beyond the Wall. Will the kings respond to this danger or will their strife and enmity continue?

The dragon begins to grow and the desire to reclaim the throne grows with the growth of the dragon.

I hope the fourth part is translated quickly so that we can continue.

I have finished it but I have taken much longer than I expected. As it usually happens with the books that I like a lot; I intentionally delay the reading as much as I can because I don't want to finish them.

I don't know if it will be my favorite of the saga, but 'A Storm of Swords' so far has been the one that has made me the most emotional. I lived it intensely from the first to the last page.

'A Game of Thrones' is a slow introduction book. That doesn't take away its fascinating aspect, but it is overwhelming and dense. Understandable because they are just introducing you to a vast universe, characters, and story.

'A Clash of Kings' comes to break a pattern that 'A Game of Thrones' "taught" us. It shows us that we are not only facing a military and war game of kings, knights, mercenaries, and bandits. But also that we are delving into a world of fantasies, curses, witchcraft, and magic.

That's why this saga reinvents itself with each installment; when you think that everything has been said, something comes and blows your mind... And by the way, your heart too.

That's what happens with 'A Storm of Swords': conspiracies, action, betrayal, drama, blood, revelation, tragedy, and fantasy. Many of the doubts that we were carrying during the previous two installments are resolved here. But don't worry, if you thought that all the mysteries had been revealed, well no, because here they leave us a thousand more open (and that epilogue that is to die of anxiety).

Objectively, 'A Storm of Swords' is the most balanced book of the three in the saga: the drama, the action, the character growth, the fantasy, the narrative, I have to put everything in the same bag because everything is in the perfect doses. George R. R. Martin may not have the most fascinating narrative, but his universe compensates for it. Every new story, every new name, every new twist, every new ending... Everything makes Martin a GENIUS. I can't express in words my admiration for this guy. His skill is so great that although he has more than 5 different narrative perspectives, none loses credibility. All his characters have an authentic and believable voice, but above all, characteristic: one already knows that Jon speaks from duty, that Jaime from sarcasm, Arya from courage, Sansa from fear, Daenerys from pride... etc.

Completely subjectively, this book contains too much emotion for my poor heart... And that's what I loved the most about it. I laughed with Jaime, shouted with Tyrion, worried with Davos, cried for The Hound (AND A LOT. Damn, you don't know how much I love The Hound), I even dreamed of Robb and Cat.

The development and evolution of the characters is brilliant; no one is ever the same and your heart is divided just like your judgment. I have nothing but praise for the thousand and I don't know how many pages that make up 'A Storm of Swords', so much so that I have absolutely nothing negative to comment on.

But watch out, I have always said it. It's very hard for me to be impersonal with the books that I enjoy. Whenever I come across this type of situation, I end up exaggerating even the flaws of the books that I love. This saga is not for all types of people and I'm aware of that, but if you are that type of person who believes that 'A Game of Thrones' is a suitable reading/universe for you, go ahead. Don't doubt it. 'A Game of Thrones' and 'A Clash of Kings' are just a small entrance to what you are going to find in 'A Storm of Swords'; and not even those two previous books are enough to prepare your heart for all the adrenaline that you are going to feel with this one.

But as I already said, it's difficult for me to stay calm when it comes to talking (and I can already affirm it with total certainty) about what has become my favorite saga.

5 stars and my infinite fervor for this book.

Reseña en el blog: http://rapsodia-literaria.blogspot.co...

¡ALERTA!

Bonus track: Las canciones.

b) Dios ¿cómo no amar a Jaime?

Ok, fine - this was the single best Fantasy book I’ve read.

It truly stands out among all the others in the genre. I firmly believe that there is also a strong argument to be made for its “objective” quality.

In fact, it can be considered as one of the most technically superior books in the Fantasy genre. This is due to several factors.

Firstly, it benefits from a wildly entertaining storyline that keeps the reader hooked from the very beginning.

The lead-up to this gratifying instalment is filled with excitement, adventure, and unexpected twists.

Secondly, the author has shown great ambition in creating a complex and detailed world.

The characters are well-developed and the plot is intricately woven.

Overall, this book is a masterpiece that combines entertainment and technical excellence in a way that few others can.

I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Fantasy literature.

Good lord, this is an incredibly long book. However, it is also one of the finest fantasy books that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The story is so captivating and the world-building is so immersive that it manages to justify its length.

Every page is filled with adventure, magic, and unforgettable characters. The author has done an amazing job of creating a rich and detailed universe that draws the reader in and doesn't let go.

Despite its length, I never once felt bored or impatient while reading this book. Instead, I was constantly eager to turn the page and see what would happen next. It truly is a masterpiece of the fantasy genre and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good adventure.

“A Storm of Swords” has descended upon the Seven Kingdoms and then ended, but it didn't leave without severing as many heads as it could!

In the fictional world of George R. R. Martin - who is the greatest fictional world creator since humans discovered their ability to imagine things - just as kings sprout up like mushrooms everywhere, they also fall like flies...

And in a world driven and controlled by interests, you may see children being slaughtered in front of their mothers, and sons staining their hands with the blood of their fathers...

And a conscience may be born in the most evil from a place you don't know, and the noble may fail to fulfill what they promised...

And between the terrifying dragons and wolves, and the monsters and the other undead, and between Westeros and Essos, and the Seven Kingdoms and the Free Cities, and the people of the free and the kneeling...

You will stand amazed, astonished... in front of the horror of the details and their precision, and the story's ability to penetrate your mind, your heart, and your soul in one moment...

The beginning of “A Storm of Swords” intertwines with the end of “A Clash of Kings”, and then the story takes three main axes: the war within the Seven Kingdoms and their families, the war of the Mother of Dragons to reclaim the Iron Throne, and the war between the Night's Watch and the wildlings and the King of the Night...

The story is set in 82 chapters told by 12 characters. Through them, George R. R. Martin relates part of the history of Westeros and describes what the wars have brought in terms of destruction and regression in the souls of people...

And next to every answer you get in “A Storm of Swords”, you will find a question that challenges your thinking...

And between a situation that makes you happy and another that makes you cry, you will find many signs of interrogation and wonder for you with the characters...

As for the interrogative signs:

Jaime and Tyrion: Sons of the Lannisters. And as if I'm not in confusion about whether I despise Tyrion or love him, Jaime appears with his other face!!... For in the worst and best of times, the Kingslayer recalls Tyrion and talks to himself: How would Tyrion think? What might Tyrion do? If only Tyrion were here... So does George R. R. Martin tell us that even the most evil have love in their hearts? Or perhaps it is also the cause of their evil!!

Melisandre and Daenerys: Melisandre speaks of the prophecy of the chosen of the Lord and the warrior of light: “When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt, to wake dragons out of stone.” So does that lead us to Daenerys? Since she was born in Dragonstone (the place of smoke and salt), and the red star (the bleeding star) appeared in the sky on the night she got the three dragons (woke them out of stone)..

Robb and Jon: Sons of Stark, the young wolf and the white wolf. The first is the legitimate son and the King in the North who chose love over fulfilling his oath and in that was his downfall as he lost the war without losing a battle. And the second is a bastard, and according to the laws of the Seven Kingdoms, bastards are traitors and turncoats, yet Jon sacrifices love in the name of fulfilling his oath and succeeds in that in protecting the Wall. So is this contrast the first hint that Jon is not a bastard? Or perhaps he carries more of the honor of the Stark name than his legitimate son?

Lady Catelyn Stark and Lady Stoneheart: The third part was amazing and its surprise... The Red Wedding was the most cruel and shocking chapters of the novel, so much so that George R. R. Martin said about it (the worst thing I've ever written in my life).. And in it, Lady Stark suffers betrayal and watches the murder of her remaining son and loses her mind and then her life...

And after her naked corpse is thrown into the river as an insult to the traditions of the House of Tully's funerals, Arya's wolf “Nymeria” drags her corpse out of the river and she appears to us at the end of the book as Lady Stoneheart and with the company of the Brotherhood Without Banners...

So what is the role of the terrifying wolf and the Brotherhood Without Banners in the return of Lady Stark? And what role will Lady Stoneheart play in the continuation of the series?

And in the end... All thanks to the translator Hisham Fahmy for this wonderful translation and whose style in it was a call to George R. R. Martin's style in writing...

And after “A Storm of Swords” left the Seven Kingdoms in a pool of blood, will we see them in “A Feast for Crows”? Awaiting the fourth part...
