God, Polnareff, I love you so much.

All of the other fucking Stardust Crusaders are rude as fuck. What did you make? Y'all knew wonderful Mr. Avdol was alive and kept fucking being like "yeah damn... can't believe he died." Don't do my goat like that.

But Avdol is back. The whole squad is back! Polnareffland!!!!!! God, this series is so good. It's so funny. The Hand Shake. The "ok" symbol underwater. Part 3 is so much fun and so wacky... and just a little bit... bizzare.

I can't get enough of this series. The characters are so unique and the story is full of twists and turns. It's a wild ride from start to finish. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good adventure.

Polnareff is my favorite character. His personality is so charming and his sense of humor always makes me laugh. I can't wait to see what he does next.

Overall, this series is a masterpiece. It's one of the best anime I've ever watched and I will definitely be watching it again and again.

3.0 - Avdol wtf

Avdol is a rather mysterious and interesting character. He first appears in the story with an air of enigma. His abilities and background are initially not fully revealed, which adds to the sense of curiosity surrounding him. As the plot progresses, we start to see more of his skills and how he plays an important role in the events. However, there are still moments when his actions and decisions leave us wondering "wtf" is going on. Maybe it's because he has his own motives and plans that are not immediately clear to the other characters or the readers. Or perhaps he is simply following a path that only he understands. Whatever the case may be, Avdol continues to be a character that keeps us on our toes and makes us eager to find out more about him and his story.

First, I read the first two chapters, where the battle against Death 13 is closed: ***

After that, the five chapters against Judgement: ***/

And finally, the first three of High Priestess: ***.

Undoubtedly, the volume has brilliant moments but it is not up to the level of the most ingenious enemies nor the best battles. That said, the scene where Polnareff and Kakyoin celebrate in sign language is great.

I hope not to give up on the series again, so I do a little more justice to this outrageous fanaticism for Jojo's that has gripped me lately.

This volume summarizes everything that the Jojos can be, because it's not just the fights, but also what comes with the Stands, the tarot cards, or the explanations.

For example, the fight against the genius is very absurd, but it's very much in line with the tone of the manga, and I love it. The same goes for the situation in the submarine. A Stand that is so improbable is introduced to make it the ocean floor, and one might say, this is impossible, but it is possible because nothing here has logic, and that is precisely the point and the charm.

And that's why I love that nothing is serious, because we are in the bizarre adventures of the Jojos. It's a world where the impossible becomes possible, and the absurd is the norm. The creativity and imagination that goes into every aspect of the story is truly remarkable. Whether it's the unique abilities of the Stands or the strange and wonderful settings, it all combines to create an unforgettable experience.

The Jojos series is a celebration of the strange and the wonderful, and this volume captures that essence perfectly. It's a must-read for any fan of the series or anyone who loves a good adventure with a twist.

3 Stars.

Here I can say that one of the characters who is stealing my attention is Polnaroff. His motives for doing certain things seem to me like things that I would undoubtedly do more in this volume where a situation is presented that not many could handle so easily.

The stand powers, I like how they are used, and I know that they can give a better idea of how things develop.

I don't have much to say, other than I continue with my thought regarding the characters.

Polnaroff's actions and decisions make him a very interesting character. He has a certain charm and determination that draw me in. I find myself constantly wondering what he will do next and how his actions will impact the story.

The use of stand powers adds an exciting element to the narrative. It allows for unique and creative battles and situations. I enjoy seeing how the characters use their powers to overcome obstacles and defeat their enemies.

Overall, I am enjoying this volume and look forward to seeing how the story continues to unfold. The characters and their stand powers keep me engaged and entertained.

⭐️⭐️✨

Why does this manga have to be so scatological lately? It's really quite off-putting. And what is up with the villains and Polnareff’s mouth? It seems rather strange and out of place. That aside, I'm not a fan of Avdol’s turning out to be alive. It feels like a cheap twist that retroactively worsens his “death” and its impact. When he was first shown to have died, it had a certain emotional weight. But now, with this reveal, it almost seems like a cop-out. It makes you question the authenticity of the original “death” scene. It's as if the creators wanted to have their cake and eat it too. They wanted the drama of his death but then decided to bring him back for some reason. This kind of inconsistent storytelling can really take away from the overall enjoyment of the manga.

The Death 13 arc will ALWAYS be one of my favorites!!

I have a special affection for this arc. It is filled with intense and thrilling moments that keep me on the edge of my seat.

Kakyoin, in particular, is a character that I truly love. His abilities and personality make him stand out.

His determination and courage in the face of danger are inspiring.

The way he uses his Stand, Hierophant Green, is both strategic and powerful.

His interactions with the other characters, especially Jotaro, add depth and complexity to the story.

Kakyoin's sacrifice in this arc is heart-wrenching but also shows his selflessness and loyalty.

The Death 13 arc would not be the same without him.

It is these elements that make the Death 13 arc one of my all-time favorite arcs in the series.

Kakyoin is one of my favorite characters in part three.

Although his methods are not especially friendly when it comes to seeking vengeance, he is the most vengeful in the group, even more so than Jotaro, which is really saying something.

I love the character development of Polnareff. When combined with the moments when he teams up with Kakyoin, it gives us very funny moments.

The image shown here, with the GIF link, adds an interesting visual element to the discussion.

It helps to bring the characters and their interactions to life in a more vivid way.

Overall, the relationship between Kakyoin and Polnareff, as well as their individual character traits, make them both stand out in the story.

These aspects contribute to the overall charm and excitement of part three.

Kakyoin, I love you. Please, would you like to be my boyfriend? Let's always feed shit to the children together. Thank you.

This strange and rather disturbing statement seems to come out of nowhere. It combines an expression of love with a rather grotesque and inappropriate idea. One can only wonder what kind of context or thought process led to such a combination of words. It's possible that this is some sort of inside joke or a very strange attempt at being creative, but it's definitely not something that would be considered normal or appropriate in most situations.

Maybe the person who said this has a very unique sense of humor or is trying to shock and get a reaction. However, it's important to remember that our words have an impact on others, and we should be careful about what we say and how we say it.

In conclusion, while this statement may be interesting in its oddity, it's not something that should be taken seriously or repeated. We should strive to communicate in a more positive and respectful way.

***Spoilers for all of Stardust Crusders***

I, uh, don't really get this volume.

The conclusion of Death's or Judgement's battle didn't sit well with me. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but there was just too much scatological humor. I also didn't understand the point of the genie stand or the pretense of bringing back Polnareff's sister.

And bringing back Avdol? I really don't understand the thought process behind that. It seems like a result of the weekly release schedule, more of a retcon than a twist. He clearly got shot in the head, but the bullet just grazed him? And Jotaro was lying when he said they buried his body? Sure.

From a storytelling perspective, the result is just strange. When he died, I thought it was early in the journey and surprisingly unemotional. And when he came back, I was just like "oh, okay". Which is a shame because I like this character. It feels like his life and death serve no purpose for him, his opponents, his friends, the world of Jojo, or the overarching plot. For a while, it made me think anyone could die at any moment, but then nobody died or suffered any permanent injuries. So that feeling wore off quickly. And now he's back, only to have his arms cut off and be pronounced dead offscreen.

The High Priestess was a cool idea. The guys are trapped in a submarine with a shapeshifting killer. Naturally, submarines are full of dials and levers, meaning any one of those countless pieces of machinery could jump out and kill you. And the gang can't afford to get too wild or they'll burst a hole in the sub. But none of this was capitalized on because they evacuated the sub almost immediately. I mean, it's kind of funny that every vehicle they enter gets destroyed in a matter of moments. But that potential was wasted. I would have liked to see what clever trick Jotaro would have come up with to lure it out.

At this point, I've kind of left the honeymoon phase of Stardust Crusaders. These last few stands haven't been to my taste. And the whole structure of this part is disappointing. In the micro, there's a lot to like (aside from the past 3 stands). Many of the fights have interesting powers, interesting implementations of those powers, and excitingly creative conclusions. And the brief character moments between those fights have been great.

However, in the macro sense, things fall apart. This might as well have been a tournament arc. We have a villain just sitting around waiting for the heroes to come get him. These books are mostly one fight after another, with some light background context of a Middle Eastern voyage. Each fight is largely self-contained. Nothing that happens in one fight affects the next. One time Avdol died, but he got better. One time Kakyoin's eyes got hurt and he had to go to the hospital for a while. But then he came back and was fine. Sometimes an enemy like Hol Horse or Oingo Boingo will escape and show up later, which is great when it happens. But it's mostly one fight after another, with a few pages in between battles. It doesn't feel like an adventure because it's all just fighting. The context of journeying from Cairo to Egypt is just set dressing. It's like a stage in a fighting game. It's what happens in the background while the characters try to kill each other. It's a lot like playing through arcade mode on a fighting game. Which is a shame. There's not enough adventure in part 3 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

In the micro, it's not so bad. The characters are really good. Most of those fights are good. And the final moments of those fights are often really exciting. Frequently, I'm caught up in the moment and having a lot of fun. But when you have 3 bad stand battles in a row and you have to look beyond the immediate to find joy, things get pretty sobering.

As of writing this, I have finished Stardust Crusaders. I have read 28 volumes of Jojo. At 28 volumes, One Piece is in the midst of Skypiea. Naruto is starting up Shippuden. Berserk has been an emotional roller coaster that is gearing up for the battle of Vritannis and Griffith's ascent into messiah. Hunter x Hunter is reaching the apex of what might be the greatest arc of all time.

Compare that to Jojo. Phantom Blood was a journey. Battle Tendency was definitely a journey. Stardust Crusaders was supposed to be this saga where 100 years later, this punk kid Jotaro has to pick up the reins once held by his ancestor and stop the return of an immortal vampire. Phantom Blood was the origin of the story that has become mythologized as its memory grows more distant. At its core are the pure good of Jonathan and the pure evil of Dio, who destroyed each other in battle. Then, 100 years later, we find out that Dio survived, desecrated the memory of Jonathan, and became more powerful than ever. Now, for the first time ever, two generations of Joestar have to team up to stop this mythologized essence of evil in the Jojo universe. Hell yes.

But then that premise amounts to a 16-volume conveyor belt of self-contained, inconsequential battles. Dio's presence is not felt outside of the very beginning and the final couple volumes. Nothing really matters until the beginning or the end. We have the setup, some self-contained fun along the way, and then a bombastic finale. There's not much of a feeling of working towards a goal or an evolving story. Just 16 volumes of fighting. It simply doesn't work when viewed as a whole. When taken piecemeal (such as reviewing each individual volume), there is a lot to get out of Part 3. But when you step back and look at the thing as a whole, there's a lot of missed potential. It's a bummer.
