Through my reading of books on personal change and development by renowned American authors such as the American motivator (Zig Ziglar), the lecturer (Anthony Robbins), and others, they often mentioned the American lecturer (Norman Vincent Peale), (1898 - 1993), and that he is one of the most important figures who helps an individual get rid of negativity and discouragement and return to thinking positively. They also mentioned his most important best-selling book titled (The Power of Positive Thinking). So, I was eager to read his books as he has more than 47 works. I searched for them in bookstores but found nothing.
A short while ago, I came across the existence of this book (You Can If You Think You Can). I found that the first Arabic translated edition was in 2016 by Jarir Publishing House, and the book was originally published in English in 1974. I was very happy and bought it.
After finishing reading it, I found it to be one of the most wonderful books I have read in the field of personal growth and development. The book mentions fourteen main principles for success, for optimism and for getting rid of negativity. Each principle is supported by dozens and dozens of stories of individuals who were able to change their way of thinking, adopt a positive approach, believe in themselves, and ask God Almighty to help them, and all of them achieved the success they desired.
The book tells you that every human being is created by God with abilities and capabilities in a specific field, and it is up to him to know this field and then invest it, and be optimistic that he will achieve what he aspires to. The most important thing in this is to ask God to achieve what he wants and not rely on himself alone.
The book tells you that you can change your way of looking at things and see all the problems you have encountered as having wonderful positive aspects and as a great opportunity for your growth and development. Problems are a divine gift that appears on the surface as misfortunes, but in essence, they hold many beautiful surprises for you; only when you change your way of looking at them.
This is a book that deserves to be read over and over again. It tells you that your belief in yourself, your expectation of good, and your recourse to your Creator are your success in achieving what you want. It also tells you that if your mind believes in something, it will achieve it with the permission of God.
So, do not give up on your dreams and believe in yourselves that you are created for great things and that you can achieve what you hope for if you ask your Lord and seek His help, and then believe in yourselves. For God does not disappoint those who trust in Him and who make great efforts. And always remember: (You can if you think you can).
