This is an absolutely amazing book.

Joyce provides an abundance of valuable advice within its pages. What makes this advice even more remarkable is that she relates it directly to real-life experiences.

By doing so, readers can easily understand and apply the concepts to their own lives.

The author's ability to make the advice practical and relevant is truly impressive.

Whether you are facing challenges in your personal or professional life, this book has something to offer.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking for inspiration, guidance, and a fresh perspective.

It is a must-read for those who want to make positive changes and improve their lives.

You will not be disappointed with this wonderful book.

This is an excellent book that delves into how the mind should be positioned for victory. It offers profound insights and valuable teachings. I have the habit of rereading this book annually, and this time, one particular statement that really stayed with me is "Self pity is self worship." It made me realize the importance of not wallowing in self-pity but rather focusing on positive self-improvement.

This is actually the third time I'm reading this book. Each time, I discover new gems of wisdom. One of the most significant takeaways this time is the reminder not to judge our future, especially not by our past. We often tend to limit ourselves based on our past experiences, but with God, nothing is impossible. We should have faith and believe that we can overcome any obstacle and achieve great things.

When your mind has been poisoned, or when Satan has gained strongholds in your mind, it is of utmost importance that it be renewed according to God's Word. This renewal process is achieved by learning the Word and engaging in deep meditation upon it. Meditation involves pondering, muttering to oneself, and truly thinking about the profound teachings within the Word. ~ Joyce Meyer, "Battlefield of the Mind", 133

Basically, this remarkable book is centered around the concept of using God's Word as a powerful tool to renew your mind. We all experience bad thoughts that need to be replaced with positive and godly ones. Joyce Meyer, with her profound insights into the Word of God, shares valuable wisdom and guidance to help us in this crucial process of renewing our minds. By following her teachings and applying the principles from the Word, we can transform our thinking patterns and adopt the right attitudes that are pleasing to God.

This review requires an explanation, to a certain capacity, because I have in no way been a fan of Joyce Meyer in the past.

However, this past year, I have been trying to read through a few books by people who might normally be considered "controversial" in the conservative Christian realm. I've realized that, the majority of the time, my opinions on people like Joyce Meyer and Rick Warren were almost entirely based on what other people were telling me about them.

Rather than just taking for granted what other people are telling me, I would much rather find out for myself. And I can honestly say that what most people have told me was completely wrong.

I have my issues with Meyer, mainly because of her lifestyle. But while I don't necessarily agree with her money decisions (AT ALL), I don't think that this needs to be a disqualifying factor.

Let me go through a few of the things I've heard about Joyce Meyer and what this book showed me of her actual beliefs.

1. People have told me that Joyce Meyer does not believe in the Trinity. I have absolutely NO CLUE where that came from, but quite simply, that is a flat out lie. She even has entire teachings on the subject of the trinity. This book speaks about all members of the Trinity quite often, so that claim is false in every way possible.

2. People have told me that she is a health-wealth-and prosperity preacher. Also not true. In this book, she has an entire chapter on hardship and suffering, and how often it is our hardships and our suffering that can be the most sanctifying factors in our lives. She never makes promises of wealth or miraculous healing because you believe in Jesus.

This book is about changing your perspective and renewing your mind in the Word, and how that kind of positive thinking can positively affect your life. She says that our biggest problem is often ourselves, and if we learn to deal with ourselves, it can help fix a lot of our problems.

People who don't like her can certainly twist her teachings and interpret it in a way she is not intending, but that would be their problem, not hers. You can pull things that she says out of context to make it mean what you want it to mean, but again, this would be your problem and not hers.

3. People have told me that she does not use enough Scripture. This is one that shocked me the most, because I genuinely had every expectation that this would be true when I went to read this book.

It wasn't. Every thing that she said was thoroughly backed up by Scripture, and she used MUCH more Scripture than many other highly-praised Christian authors I have read.

A good example is Paul Tripp. He is a man of God and I am not hating on him, but I listened to a message by him the other day and he didn't actually reference the Bible at all until the end of the message. Why aren't people hating on him for this?

Yes, my one squabble is that occasionally a verse was taken out of context, and the true meaning of that verse was not entirely accurately presented. To be honest though, every author has done this to some extent.

And the meaning that was taken from the verses was never out of line with the rest of the biblical truth. More than that, this entire book had a theme of actively studying the Word of God as you pursue the renewing of your mind.

One of the best ways we can gain the mind of Christ is if we learn the mind of God in Scripture. There were a few things I disagreed with, but there are a few things I disagree with men like John Piper on as well.

What's most important is that we encourage people to read the Bible for themselves, because then we are enabling them to discover the truth for themselves, rather than taking what we tell them about the Bible for granted.

4. People have told me that Joyce Meyer believed in the "name it and claim it" New Age type of faith. Again, you would have to take her statements completely out of context to interpret her writings in this way.

She is all about speaking positively, and thinking positive thoughts, and that when we do this we will inevitably see our situations getting better. This isn't some magical or mystical point to make though. This is practical.

Anybody can see this happen in their own life. When we are positive thinkers and are speaking positively, *we* inevitably change, and this is what causes our outlook on our situations to change as well.

Often, it changes our situations as well, because we tend to be our biggest problem in any given situation. I have seen this truth to be very true in my own life.

To be honest, I got a lot out of this book. Pretty much everything she said I found to be extremely helpful and relevant. She is no theologian, but she takes Scripture and helps people to practically apply it in a way that is understandable and attainable by people who are both highly educated and might not be educated at all.

Genuinely am not sure why so many people proclaim this woman to be a wolf or a false-prophet. I think that most of those people have probably never read any of her books.

This book was truly outstanding.

I have no hesitation in saying that I would not mind re-reading it at a later time.

Joyce vividly describes the mind as a battlefield, where the forces of darkness engage in a fierce struggle against us by sowing seeds of doubt, unbelief, and anxiety.

She elaborates on the concept of setting oneself free through simple steps.

According to her, this process occurs gradually, as a sudden deluge of change could potentially overwhelm us.

Here are a few valuable lessons I gleaned from this book:

Expect to receive and receive to expect.

Do not worry; instead, observe the birds.

Seek God's face rather than His hand in the pursuit of gifts.

Choose the right thoughts.

Constantly monitor your thoughts.

Be cognizant of your wilderness mentality, which includes complaining, jealousy, worry, and judging.

Don't merely have a wishbone; develop a backbone.

Be realistic rather than idealistic.

This book has firmly convinced me to closely monitor my thoughts, as the author contends that right thoughts give rise to right actions.

I wholeheartedly concur.

It is highly recommended for individuals grappling with anxiety, worry, and doubts.

As a disclaimer, I must state that I had to listen to this audio book for a class; otherwise, I would not have completed it.

The audio book I listened to consisted of 4 or 5 sermons from Joyce on this particular subject. I'm uncertain how different the actual book might be, but I simply wasn't a fan of the sermons.

The subject she was addressing, namely how crucial your thoughts are, is of utmost importance for people to comprehend. However, I didn't appreciate the way she approached it.

I will never fathom Christian preachers or teachers who feel compelled to use guilt and shame to bludgeon you in an attempt to motivate you.

Personally, I have discovered that teachers who encourage and inspire me to change are far more successful. I have learned the principles she was endeavoring to teach from others who went about it in a much different manner.

This experience has made me realize that different teaching methods can have a significant impact on the learner's receptiveness and understanding. While some may respond well to a more forceful approach, I find that gentle encouragement and inspiration work best for me.

It also makes me wonder if there are better ways for preachers and teachers to convey their messages without resorting to guilt and shame. Perhaps a more empathetic and understanding approach would be more effective in helping people truly internalize the importance of their thoughts and make positive changes in their lives.

Overall, while the subject matter was important, the delivery of the sermons left much to be desired. I hope that in the future, those in positions of teaching and preaching will consider alternative methods that are more conducive to learning and growth.

This remarkable book has enabled me to conduct a more in-depth exploration of my thoughts. It has provided me with effective means to make my thoughts submit to Christ.

It is extremely motivating and encouraging. I engaged with this book in the company of God, along with a small group at my church. We supplemented our study with additional reading materials and Joyce Meyer YouTube videos.

Wow! I was truly amazed when I discovered her book. It turned out to be an incredibly revelational piece of work.

I found both this book and the workbook to be outstanding tools. They are extremely helpful in getting one's mind cleaned up and organized. Moreover, they assist in empowering individuals to conquer the challenges that life throws at them.

If you happen to know someone who is struggling with depression, is constantly plagued by negative thoughts, or easily gets bummed out by life's difficulties, then I would highly and strongly recommend this book to them.

The workbook is an added bonus as it compels you to go back and search the scriptures or other passages. This way, you can effectively deal with those destructive thoughts that tend to hold you back.

Thank God for Joyce Meyer and the wonderful resources she has provided through this book and workbook. They have the potential to bring about a significant positive change in the lives of many.

Joyce Meyer is a capitalist who seems to be solely focused on money and is a master manipulator.

Her book is nothing short of absolute trash. It offers no real value or inspiration.

If you have a desire to truly feel bad about yourself and turn your life into a hopeless situation, then by all means, go ahead and read this garbage.

However, for those who are seeking positive change, personal growth, and a sense of hope, it is best to stay far away from such works.

There are countless other books and resources available that can offer genuine help and guidance in improving one's life and finding meaning and purpose.

Don't waste your time and energy on something that is likely to do more harm than good.

Seek out the good and let go of the bad.

This remarkable book has been an eye-opener for me. It has enabled me to unearth numerous incorrect ways of thinking that I was completely oblivious to. Despite sharing several resemblances with secular tomes on transforming one's thought process, it still manages to offer a novel perspective on this topic from a Christian standpoint.

However, after hearing some recent information about the author, I was strongly inclined to rate it as one star. Nevertheless, it wouldn't be just to her work, so I've decided to leave it at three stars. :/ I'm rather disappointed that I found this book useful in the past, but such is the reality. It's a complex situation where my initial appreciation for the content is somewhat marred by the newfound knowledge about the author.

Despite this, I must admit that the book did have its merits in terms of highlighting those hidden flaws in my thinking. It's a reminder that our perception of a work can be influenced by various factors, and sometimes we have to make difficult decisions when evaluating.

Overall, while my feelings towards this book have become more ambivalent, I can't deny the impact it had on me initially.
