This book is not as good as Carolyn's other more comprehensive little house book.

However, it does have a few more activities in it. These activities might appeal to those who are using this book as a homeschool study guide.

There is a significant amount of overlap with the other book. In fact, it would probably be best to combine the two into one very slightly longer book.

This way, readers could have all the useful information and activities in one place.

It would make it more convenient for homeschoolers and others who are interested in the topic.

Overall, while this book has its merits, it could be improved by combining it with the other more comprehensive one.

Such marvelous children's stories! They are truly a wonder to behold. Some of the content within them is definitely from a different understanding of the human person. For example, the notion that children shouldn't cry is quite an interesting concept. However, these books offer so much more than just that. They afford us precious glimpses into life before industrialization, globalization, electricity, canned music, and the internet. It's like taking a step back in time and experiencing a world that was so different from the one we know today. We can see how people lived, what their values were, and how they interacted with one another. These stories are not only entertaining but also educational, providing us with a unique perspective on the past.

I've only read "Little House in the Big Woods" and "The Farmer's Boy." This print contains the first 5 books.

I vividly remember that I really enjoyed both of those books. However, as time has passed, I don't recall many of the details. I guess this serves as a good reason for a reread eventually. I have been eager to move on to "Little House on the Prairie" for quite some time now. But for over a year, I just haven't gotten around to it. So, I am going to say that we will definitely get back to it at some point in the future.

Maybe when I do pick it up again, I will rediscover the magic and charm that I felt when I first read those earlier books in the series. It's always exciting to revisit beloved stories and see if they still have the same impact on me.

I'm looking forward to that day when I can once again immerse myself in the world of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family's adventures.

Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House" series is a beloved collection of books that has captured the hearts of readers for generations.

The first book, "Little House in the Big Woods," takes us into the simple yet charming life of Laura and her family in the Wisconsin woods. We see them facing the challenges of pioneer life, from building their own home to gathering food and dealing with the harsh winters.

In "Little House on the Prairie," the family ventures west to Kansas, where they encounter new adventures and difficulties. Laura learns about the ways of the prairie, makes new friends, and experiences the excitement and danger of living in a new land.

"Farmer Boy" focuses on the life of Almanzo Wilder, Laura's future husband, growing up on a farm in New York. We see his daily chores, his love for horses, and his dreams of a better life.

"On the Banks of Plum Creek" follows the Ingalls family as they move to Minnesota and settle near a creek. Laura enjoys the beauty of the countryside, but also has to deal with floods, prairie fires, and other natural disasters.

Finally, "By the Shores of Silver Lake" takes us to South Dakota, where the family hopes to start a new life. Laura helps her father build a house, works in a store, and dreams of becoming a teacher.

Each book in the series offers a unique glimpse into the past and a celebration of the pioneer spirit. With beautiful illustrations and engaging stories, the "Little House" series is a must-read for anyone interested in American history and the power of family.

I read these to each of my 4 children.

It is a wonderful moment when I sit down with each of them and share these stories or readings.

I can see the excitement and curiosity in their eyes as they listen intently.

Sometimes, they interrupt with questions or comments, which makes the experience even more engaging.

Reading to them not only helps them develop a love for books and learning but also strengthens our bond as a family.

I cherish these precious moments and hope that they will remember them for a lifetime.

It is a simple yet powerful way to pass on knowledge and values to the next generation.

I look forward to many more reading sessions with my children in the future.

I'm just completely in love with this book series!

I have a profound affection for this particular type of writing. It has the remarkable ability to transport me back to the olden days in the USA. During those times, people's lives were much simpler, yet they were filled with more fun and joy.

By 3/21/2019, we had successfully finished reading book 1. And now, we are eagerly looking forward to delving into the next book in this wonderful collection.

I have a deep appreciation for every single story that Laura wrote with such meticulous detail. It's as if she painted a vivid picture in my mind with her words.

Oh, how I wish that I could, just once in my life, live in "the Big Woods" and fully enjoy the nature that God has so beautifully created. The thought of it makes my heart long for that idyllic and peaceful existence.

I have always had a deep love for these.

My grandma used to read them to me when I was a child, and that's why they hold a special place in my heart.

Even though I own the cool yellow box set, which is really great, these stories are still truly awesome!

In fact, I think they are way better than the TV show.

Let's not even begin to talk about the TV show.

It just can't compare to the magic and charm of these original stories.

Every time I pick up one of these, I am transported back to those wonderful moments with my grandma.

It's like a warm embrace from the past.

I cherish these stories and will always keep them close.

They are not just books; they are a part of my childhood and a source of无尽的欢乐 and memories.

I can't wait to share them with future generations and pass on the love and magic.

The Little House on the Prairie has been a childhood favorite of mine ever since I was young.

I first became interested in this storyline by watching the show on television, but later discovered that it was also a book series.

The story, told from the perspective of Laura Ingalls, is extremely powerful and eye-opening. It transports you back to a time and era that is vastly different from today.

This family is incredibly loving towards one another, regardless of the circumstances. They reside in the plains and are all very hardworking. Whether it's farming their land, constructing things for survival, or cooking, cleaning, and maintaining the house, every family member has a specific role.

Something that was quite common for this class of family, especially during that time, was the size and design of their home. All the kids share a "room" which is more like a loft space. Then, there is really only one small room for the parents to sleep in, and it's not even fully closed off.

However, to them, even though they have a small house and not many possessions, they have each other, and that's all they truly need. They find joy and happiness within the family!

The songs were the sole aspect of the book that was novel to me. Even so, I was already familiar with many of them from other origins.

The crafts and recipes I had encountered previously, but then again, I had perused all the books about Laura Ingalls Wilder that I could lay my hands on. She has been one of my favorite authors ever since I was a little girl.

This book, however, serves as an excellent introduction for children who may not know much about her or the era she depicted in her books. The recipes, crafts, and songs assist in breathing new life into her.

It offers a wonderful opportunity for young readers to get to know Laura Ingalls Wilder and the world she lived in. Through these engaging elements, they can gain a better understanding and appreciation of her works and the historical context in which they were written.

Overall, this book is a valuable addition to any collection and a great way to introduce children to the enchanting world of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

I have an intense love for these books!

I vividly remember the moment when I thought sharing the name with the protagonist in these books was truly AWESOME.

Not only do I adore the books, but I also have a great passion for the TV show based on them.

There are days when I call in sick and wish I could simply relax and watch reruns of the show on cable.

However, the unfortunate reality is that I don't currently have cable.

Lately, I've been thinking more and more about the possibility of getting cable.

The allure of being able to access my favorite shows whenever I want is becoming increasingly tempting.

I can envision myself cozying up on the couch, immersed in the world of my beloved characters, without having to worry about missing out on any episodes.

It seems like a small luxury that could bring a great deal of joy and entertainment into my life.
