Okay, here's the deal.

I am completely and insanely in love with the character Alex Cross. He is not only bold and brave, but also larger than life. Despite his tough exterior, he is also a loving and caring father. The scenes with Alex and his kids always manage to touch my heart deeply. Young Jenny, in particular, is a real hoot!

I am overjoyed with his love choice in this book - Christine. She seems to be the perfect match for him.

Cat & Mouse is truly a thrilling game of cat & mouse between Cross and two extremely dangerous villains. It is a life and death battle that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. I held my breath through most of the book, fearing that Patterson would somehow steal the happy ending from me and Alex.

Overall, the book was great until the almost-end. Patterson just couldn't leave it alone and had to throw a kink in the cogwheel to set up the next book. Well, I guess I'll have to live with it until I read the next book in July. But I'm warning you, Patterson - don't mess this up!

My only tiny complaint, which is hardly a complaint at all, is that I felt like Cat & Mouse became a little slow in the middle. It wasn't lacking in action, but perhaps there was a bit too much over-the-top action that made it feel a little drawn out.

Having said that, Cat & Mouse is still another great addition to the series. It seems that the author can never leave well enough alone, which keeps us readers coming back for more. Lol. Highly recommended, of course!
